Hi there, excellent video and I have subscribed! I have a quick question if you don't mind: I have a 2012 Altima and it need an ECM and the service number is MEC112-130 B1 2313A but i can only find ECMs with the same digits except the last 5. Do you think it will work after I reprogram the keys and VIN? I was told the last 5 numbers don't matter but I'm unsure on what to do. Thanks again for the video :)

Awesome find. I got issue with 2014 captiva, with p0017 code which exhaust cam position not plausible, i gues this is it. It starts from 3rd or 4th time, and runs smooth, but vvt doesnt correct anything on exhaust side, new sensor which opens by command, working sprocket. The question is if crank reluctor misaligned there is no way it ever would start?

It all depends on how far it slipped, and the pcm logic .

@BrianMann216 ended up it was off about 10 degrees or so, replaced cam, starts with 1st time every time now, and vvt does correction as it should. Thanks a lot. Your video helped to solve it!

Brian, i see you had to use two tools on this vehicle. The GM MDI 2 ? and the tech2. Do you recommend purchasing both tools? I currently have a cardaq plus 3. Is the tech2 needed to work on older Chevy trucks like a 2008 trailblazer?

Tech 2 win is a windows based software tool, the mdi 2 is whatvi used to connect the tech 2 win tithe vehicle .

Hi Brian, It’s quite possible that the crappy Nissan software is to blame. A few months ago I successfully programmed a new ECU into an Infinity but once I went to perform the idle air relearn the software would crash. After a few tries (and a few crashes) third party tooling was used to complete the relearns.

I have seen the calibration data PIDS populate after a test drive. Yours did not, maybe because the characteristics were never installed. I seen many of these cvts come defective from the dealership that bang into gear or slip, even with the procedure done correctly.

What if the blower motor speed is not increasing as you turn it up and it is delayed

Not sure. Is it a digital blower control or an old school resistor on the vehicle you are working on? Monitor the voltage drop across the motor when turning on and changing speeds

That was a very good demonstration. I can see that the computer is always correcting to optimize the fuel trim. I suppose that understanding what information the computer needs to control fuel trim will be in future lessons. Thank you!🖖🏻

Yes understanding the inputs is something to discuss for sure. It gets interesting quickly once introducing af sensors lambda / equivalency ratio.. personally in my day to day fuel trims can lead me to repairing the vehicle.

What is the voltage of the circuit that you are grounding at the pcm? Force of rabbit I would recheck all pcm powers and grounds. When you say mo comm you mean only the pcm?

What if you’re getting 7-9V on between pin 16 and 4/ground. Battery is all good. Scan tool doesn’t turn on
