don't forget about the fan duct rubber gasket you need to make sure it is placed before screwing down the logic board.

Hi, thanks a lot for this excellent video. Could you help me to confirm the diagnostic of my MacBook Air Early 2015. It boots on a loop and the hardware diagnostic shows error PPM002. I want to be sure a new logic board will fix the issue. Thanks.

Can you upgrade to a faster board I broke the battery connector. Computer still works had water damage. Drive was damaged running on external usb drive

This is so cool! I think I have almost the same - macbook air early 2014 - I have 8GB of ram and I went with the i7 BUT! It would be so nice if there was like, 4x4GB of rams that I could get at least 16GB of ram. Or haha change the processor or something since it's also soldered. Is it the Logic board / motherboard that stops this not supporting higher ram or? I think I read the processor or so. Would love to hear some opinions!

You absolutely can do both of those if you know how to solder and also have a hot air rework station. You can move the processor from the non working board to the new one but you would need to have solder balls and a stencil in order to prep the cpu slot and with the ram it’s actually just regular solder point on each of the 4 chips. Then you also need to reset your Mac following the procedure. It’s not impossible to replace soldered in components it’s just something that you would really need to read up on and practice on donor boards before you’re comfortable enough to do everything

I am 60% certain that either the cpu or the logic board itself doesn't support 16 GB of ram (8 GB is the max), also I am 40% certain that there isn't any practical options for cpu replacement...

You can't go beyond the logic board specs.

You should able to pull the 2.5 inch hard drive to recover your data

At 3:08 is where I remove the SSD. If you plan to upgrade a larger SSD, try look up on ebay or amazon. After upgrade, you would need to reinstall Mac OS

Yeah you can 2013 2014 2015 model motherboards are all the same as long as you have the right serial number

I've seen guides that say you should remove old thermal paste and apply a new layer to the heat sink on the logic board - do you think this step is necessary?

Yes. Given the age of the laptop. Thermal paste must have been dried out.

Maybe is the RAM. Try remove the RAM and run one at a time
