I appreciate all the views, comments and advice on the video from you all. Thank you for watching, and if you want to see something else with it let me know in the comments below. I'm trying not to copy to much of what's already been done which is nearly impossible at this point but what I'm trying to provide is a really close in depth look at these guns while also giving you a decent view of them shooting so it can help you decide on a purchase or not.

Good video! Knowing what I've learned after owning my Cattleman II for a few years, the first things I would have done is install the Wolff springs in it, and blue Loctite most of the screws. I found an ACP cylinder for it on the bay, and had my gunsmith fit it. It shoots great with ACP, maybe a little more accurate and definitely cleaner. It's a blast to shoot, but I most enjoy in while setting in my recliner and watching INSP. lol

I bought 2 of these from Cabelas in 357. Hands down, my favorite guns to shoot. I wanted a matching rifle so i bought a henry big boy classic. @@soniapoch7905to me a 45 slowly pushes while a 357 has a sharp snap the 45 is much flatter in comparison to the 357 recoil is much higher in a 357. The 45 hits much slower at about 900 or so fps with 230 g ball ammo. A 357 travels 1400 fps approximately 158g ball ammo both with a barrel of 5 inches. A heavy 45 full size pistol is flat shooting like a 38 special a 357 with a heavy frame has a snappy but manageable recoil may take time to adjust also a 357 can shoot 38 special as well hope that helps

Hold your pistol with the load gate to the sky and lower your cylinder into the weapon. Close the load gate then turn the revolver upside in a horizontal position holding the cylinder from underneath the weapon cradling it. Center the cylinder while slightly pushing forward on the pin until it aligns in place. I hope this helps

Nice Cattleman II. I have one, too, and like it. Mine, however, doesn't have the two positions yours does on the cylinder pin. Since you didn't mention it, you likely are not aware that one of those positions constitutes a safety position that prevents the hammer from falling all the way down. I'm referring to the second notch, i.e., the notch that positions the pin further in. So your Cattleman actually has two safety features not found on the Colt SAA, i.e., 1) the second position on the cylinder pin, and 2) the trigger safety (which allows for the safe carry of six loaded chambers by preventing the firing pin from contacting a primer when the trigger is not depressed). And neither safety interferes with tradition function or looks, which is pretty cool.

@@caseysammobench You need to confirm if your pistol actually has the floating firing pin. I have two Sass pro's with your style hammer and four clicks. it does not have a floating firing pin. your hammer appears to be the type that engages a safety bar that blocks the hammer against the frame. Uberti made a few changes to the guns and none of the instructions match the gun in the box. So how to you confirm the floating firing pin?? Remove the cylinder. and with the hammer down you should not see the firing pin protrude the frame. then pull the trigger and you will see the firing pin protrude the frame. If you see the firing pin protrude through the frame with the hammer down you do not have the floating firing pin.

@@valkyr_rl7169 Well, the safety that's strictly to do with the cylinder pin won't impede reliability, but the trigger safety mechanism is a little on the tiny and fragile side, so I guess it's possible it could break at some point, rending the firing pin useless (and the gun incapable of firing), but I am unaware of how likely that might be.

It's a US Marshal dual cylinder 45acp/45 Colt. Then the Ruger Vaquero Bisley with transfer bar and a Beretta (Uberti) Stampede with transfer bar. Two are safe with 6 rounds and two are iffy. All are great though.

@@caseysammobench the older, ORIGINAL Vaquero has a very strong frame and cylinder. The New Vaquero is closer in size to the SAA. If you get a New Vaquero, do NOT run it with "heavy" +P loads. You can run them with a little more pressure, but nothing near what the large frame Vaquero will run. By the way, that's a beautiful Uberti there.

Also the 45 colt cylinder has the same amount of metal at the bolt notch as the 45acp cylinder so will take the same 23k psi pressure. It's just not necessary to go that hot and to have a serious round out of the 45 colt. If your state allows it the underwood or buffalo bore standard pressure loads will ethically kill deer as far as you can put it in the right place. I treat it like bow hunting range wise and I know from experience that my pistol will never not have enough horsepower to perform.

I would suggest getting some BLUE AND OR PURPLE - !!!!!!NOT RED!!!!! locktite. put the locktite on the two screws on the trigger guard. I have spoken to others and they have the simlar problem (of those two screws coming loose). Blue or Purple locktite will fix that. The 9mm is extremely accurate. It is fun to shoot. the 5.5 inch barrel is perfect. Most any 5.5 inch holster will fit it. --- Just to advise: if you cock it all the way, the trigger pull is about 2 or 2.5 lbs. Cool gun! Pretty old school😊 Btw. I've tried the Federal Gold medal 168gr in the HMR. Could get the groups smaller than 1,5 inches, but I've also tried some cheap 180gr. hunting rounds, which were half MOA😊👍🏻

Interesting, I haven't tried anything above 175. I'll give it a shot one of these days. I'm sitting on such a good stock of factory 168gr feds. I get spoiled with my hand loads though. I basically just recreate the same bullet with more quality control. The weather where I'm at has been miserable for the past few months. Either disgustingly hot or dumping rain. Both of which I don't want to be outside much in. So my range time has got pretty bad. Can't wait to get at it some more during the fall. Thank you for watching my videos. Hopefully the quality starts to get better as well. Let me know if there is anything particular you want to see a review on here.

@@caseysammobench The weather here is bad too, but at my shooting range the targets are electric, so you dont need to go out there. My likes the RWS 168gr best, but as my local shop doesn't has them in stock anymore, I had to try something different. I'm glas I did, because the 180gr are 30% cheaper 😊 I hope your weather gets better soon, so you can go to the range too! Some longer range shooting would be awesome🤗

@@caseysammobench Honestly I was just being sarcastic. KZfaq is becoming nothing but reruns. Every video out there on the SAA mentions those 4 clicks so they should be pretty important. There is absolutely nothing new to share or show on the SAA. Just being honest again there is nothing left on them that everyone doesn't know just as everything else not even pertaining to firearms. I have been shooting and repairing these things for 46 years and knew all about them long before KZfaq but I am always hoping someone can come up with something new or different but there is nothing left. Perhaps you will be the one to change all that.

Lol, I appreciate the sarcasm. You are right. But I believe that goes for pretty much anything on youtube. The 4 click thing is just important to a lot of people is why it's consistently mentioned in videos. As my channel grows I would like to challenge the norms and provide that missing piece to firearms videos. It is definitely tougher than I thought. Especially with the lack of ammunition and reloading components. And as they come back, the outrageous prices. I guess the take on this video was to be able to see it shooting and some better quality close ups of it for potential buyers.
