Learn all uchi mata basic components with unique animations. In this judo tutorial for uchi mata (uchi-mata) you will understand the classical execution of all uchi mata basics (inner-thigh reaping throw) consisting of destabilizing the opponent diagonally toward the front, and then using the back of the thigh to throw him.
This uchi-mata basic tutorial is perfect for beginner judokas and is also entertaining for advanced and higher level judokas.

Brilliant idea. Short but straight to the point. Personally I would prefer a voice over rather than the music but cant complain you do make good videos.

@@SkyjuiceMMA thank you friend! Yes, I considered this but I have an accent and that’s why I was hesitant to do it with a voice over. Maybe at some point I will be able to hire a native speaker to do it for me.

What are the pros and cons of stepping past your reaping leg on the second step? It is also correct to do the technique without doing that?

The deeper you go the better, but at some point you can no longer go deeper as that would compromise your ability to retain balance and strong posture as in the animation. The force needs to transfer from the base leg and it needs a stable ground. In some variations of uchi mata you even step outside of the legs, this is the korean type. What we show here is the classical execution where you reap in between both legs in the centre. If you don’t go deep enough you will not be able to do a good reap and will not be able to get under the centre of gravity. Hope this helps.

@PC Principle any uchi mata is hard to do as it is one of the hardest throws since you are on just one leg. This is why it is a throw for black belt promotion. The recommendation is to train the classical throws over variations until you get the principle. I wouldn’t say any throw is easier than another in judo. In competition everything is hard and it is the only place where you understand whether your judo is any good or not. Knowing a technique means being able to apply it in randori or shiai.

We need competition uchimata not lifting up with the hands. Little practical value.

Lifting with the hands helps develop the muscles and streamline the technique. Should not be underestimated.

@@justjudo7601 Come on man this is fairy tale throwing. It never works in competition. Tremendous pulling with hands, lift up with the hands is for demonstration uchimata.
