If you were in Ilia's shoes, being the Champ and all, being able to call your shots, wouldn't you pick the fight with the least resistance in Ortega versus a Maximum Prime? At the end of the day, the fans are only going to remember your wins. Ilia is only being strategic in picking more winnable fights than jumping straight into the fire

Erceg seems like a nice guy but I don't think this fight is going to even be close. Pantoja has lapped the division and beaten some real killers. Erceg has nice striking but I don't see it doing much against Pantoja. They're going right to the ground where he gets subbed out.

On the paper Anthony Smith is beating Vitor Petrino. So he did. That is prove, stats are very important. Stats on paper, arent just numbers. Numbers are describing the fights , much better than typical language. I personally lost soooo much on that bet :( But we can learn from lost :D

I think Jonathan Martinez is it going to easily beat Josie Aldo. The once greatest kicker of all time in the UFC, think the Uriah Faber fight, yet oddly rarely leg kicks anymore. The head kicks, body kicks and leg kicks of Martinez should easily take out Aldo

It's weird to me how everyone tries to make claims about the quality of the card before it happens. So many hyped fights have turned out to be crap and so many pthers have been unexpectedly great. The PPV pricing structure is inherently absurd, every single event is overpriced, no one should ever pay $80 for any of these. But this one will likely be just as good as most of them. If not, call it shit after the event when we know that for sure.
