In this episode, we talk with Oliver Thomas who is BIM and Tech manager at BIG Architects in their London office. Oliver is also the co-founder of ‪@architech.network‬ .
We talk about Oliver's journey from an architect to BIM and Tech manager, and the important of Building Information Management also known as BIM. Oliver also worked on the construction design of Zaha Hadid Architect's Morpheus Hotel in Macau, China and he guides us through the process and how important parametric design is to being able to realize architecture of that caliber.
We also discuss whether Blender is the kind of software that can be used in a big firm like BIG.

i am archicad guy and grasshopper and rhino, I am afraid of Revit and what about actual programming, do you think it is necessary to know actual coding in the future or grasshopper is enough with another visual coding

Depends what you need to do - Grasshopper has grown so much lately, with all the available plugins from the community, that many people are able to handle even the most complex tasks with Grasshopper. Is that the most efficient way to do it? Probably not. I started getting tired at some point of the mouse clicks of adding simple nodes in Grasshopper so I started writing python scripts that cover 10-20-30 nodes at the same time. I would suggest to learn how to use Python if you are more interested, as that can definitely improve your skills further.
