@morri03 raises a good point below and one that would have been good to mention in the vid. The tyres do create a whine on the road, not to a level that bothers me but something to be aware folks.

Thanks for a nice ride! Those stone fences, quite beautiful. The work in them! Have some basic ones in Colac Victoria, nothing like those though.

Silver Fox here. Strines on a cold misty morning, beautiful. And being able to combine that with exercising your "log fetishism". A perfect day for you ?? Late 50s, I won't be able to say that for long !! That microphone was working very well on the bike. Extremely pleasant video. 👍😎

I had mine done recently. I asked the dealer why the recall and I'm sure he said it was something to do with the pistons in the caliper being susceptible to road salt causing binding brakes etc...

Yea that seems to be the reason. Only affecting us that spread the nasty every winter ❄️

The only difference I could see with the replacement calipers was that the 'Bybre' polished branding was gone. The tech when he was replacing them said the same. I changed my pads to sintered...best value 20 quid I've spent on my Interceptor!

Totally agree, nothing wrong with standard but can be improved. I have EBC HH, bit sharper initial bit. 😎

Every biker who has ridden Mortimer Road will tell you it's one their favourites, hairpins and hills a good road surface ending with a nice straight blast uphill from Strines, at 10 miles it's over too soon. The gateway to further fun in Derbyshire.

Lovely stretch isn’t it. I love Winnats pass too but you rarely get a clear run, particularly uphill

Hi Mr D. The caliper recall may only apply to the earlier UK 650s. Apparently, using the bike on winter salted roads had a potential risk of brake seizure - nothing to worry about for owners who haven't received safety recall notices. I got mine replaced a few weeks ago, even though I haven't used the bike in the winter months - but the next owner may expect the replacements. The originals were good enough, but have to say that the new ones felt better on the way back from the dealer - maybe just psychological....

Firstly many thanks, your videos helped me a lot with my Interceptor Scrambler. Mines a 2021 and I haven't had a recall notice yet about the brakes. I wonder if my year wasn't affected.

Thank you, glad they have been of assistance! I doubt a 21 would be affected, maybe a clue if they calipers are branded. Do yours have Bybre written on them? The replacements are just plain gold

@@DormanDiaries yes, they are still the bybre ones with the writing on. I guess they could be rolling them out in phases if they are affected.

Lovely day for a ride! Yeah, knobbly tyres are noisy as hell, TKC80, K60Scout, all had a whine. TrailAttack2’s were silky in comparison

Is yours a euro 4 or 5? Presume they are now right from the factory.

Can you provide some more info about those calipers? Because I'm curious why they have no logo now. Does it mean they are cheep Chinese nonames?

Is that rental bar much lighter than the original? I will be receiving my interceptor in a few weeks and I'm concerned about the weight - looking for meaningful ways to reduce it. Trading a 2021 tiger 900gt in on it - twice the hp and less weight 😪

Hi Mate, Marginally lighter. I've done a few things to make it lighter but ditching the original exhausts is one of the best ways. I've also added some protection items that will have negated some of my gains. Cheers

Does the interceptor need that handle bar brace. Like your mods by the way.

Thank you 🙏🏼. Those bars come with a brace, I’m sure they’d be fine without, but should help keep them a bit straighter when I lay it down! Renthal do plenty of fat bar non braced options alternatively.

Links in description 😉 I don’t think the recall affects India due to your better climate, maybe in the north, not sure. We put a lot of salt on the roads over here which rots everything.

Yes it is actually, they were slightly under pressure but you can hear them regardless. I’m so used to knobblies it doesn’t register with me! I bet on an electric bike they would stick out like a sore thumb!

They are recalling in some markets, mainly where we salt the roads in winter I think due to corrosion on the brake pots. I didn’t inspect mine but got the recall note so took it in for them.
