The US has already pledged another $1.5B. Who knows how much others will agree to pay? The fund raising event is a complete success. Zelenskyy may lead Ukraine to destruction, but he's a very talented beggar.

This so-called peace summit without Russia or the heads of state and foreign ministers of the four largest countries of the global south (China, Indonesia, India and Brazil) is dead on arrival. Plus, China and Brasil proposed their own alternative peace plan which undercuts the whole thing. Finally, I love how the journalist tries to twist that fact by saying that the Indians are sending a high-ranking foreign official. The fact is that Jaishankar was not there, so what they sent is a third-level officer, which is a sign that they are not taking all this very seriously. For all this reasons and more this summit is just a big waste of time.

Calling the summit in Switzerland a peace summit is farcical. Given the immediate and irrational response of Ukraine and the NATO bloc to Putin's speech to the Russian MOFA, in which he spells out his terms for negotiation and his resolve for achieving his SMO objectives, when faced with the inevitable defeat on the conventional battlefield, it is now most likely that NATO will resort to the use of nuclear weapons.
