Units of the 115th TrO brigade conducted regular training firings with MT-12 "Rapir" guns.
Footage shared by the 115th Brigade of Ukraine appears to show Ukrainian troops conducting regular training activities including firing MT-12 guns.

My brother serves in this brigade. Since the first days of full scale invasion he enlisted as volunteer. Very proud of him!

Pretty obvious this is "phase 1" training. Those are old old Soviet anti-tank guns from the late 40's. They are loading anti tank rounds (APDS) that have no explosive charge. They are also using the guns in a direct fire role that would be very unlikely in actual combat. But it gives new trainees experience in preparing, using and especially cleaning big guns. The Ukrainians Army motto - "Use what you got. If you ain't got it, make what you got work!" The UAF does that better than any army in the world.

These are anti-tank guns and certainly not from the 40's! And direct fire is how you HAVE to fire that kind of gun. BING: "The MT-12 Rapira gun, also known as the 2A19 or T-12, is a Soviet-designed 100-mm anti-tank gun. It was the first anti-tank gun to adopt a smoothbore barrel and to introduce modern armor-piercing shot, like the APFSDS1. The MT-12 fired an APFSDS-T (Armor-Piercing, Fin-Stabilized Discarding Sabot - Tungsten) projectile of 12.5lb at a muzzle velocity of 5,170 feet per second out to a range of 3,300 yards2. Since the gun tube of the MT-12 was smoothbore (not rifled), the projectiles required built-in, spring-loaded fins for in-flight stabilization2"

yours is unlikely, quite likely we have a video where two such weapons stopped an armored column with tanks and landing forces, after which the artillery covered the column.

"Rapira" - an old Soviet anti-tank gun. They were mainly replaced by Ukrainian ATGMs "Corsair" and "Stugna-p" and "Javelins", NLAW

The old MT-12 is an old Soviet era anti-tank gun developed soon after WW2. The Russians have lost so much of their modern tanks that are using the very old T-54s and T-55s. The MT-12 would be more efficient and economical to kill those Old Russian tanks and save the modern ATGM for more modern Russian tanks they have left.

That gun is jumping around all over the place, compare it with M777 how stable that is on firing, no wonder M777 is so accurate.

This what Wikipedia says, and I'm not a physicist but it makes sense to me 😂 "No, recoil does not directly affect accuracy. Recoil occurs after the bullet has left the barrel. The barrel motion caused by recoil is happening long after the bullet is downrange"
