Thanks Joel, I needed this today. I had trouble making the tie on the tuner for a Low G on my Islander, but I did a work around. My first Low G ukulele!

Joel, your video content is outstanding. I followed it for my open headstock Kala from ~11:24 and successfully made the change. I would have never done it without your guidance. I did take pics of your original work to consult them in the event it was necessary. I was able to replicate your work to my liking. Thanks again for an outstanding video! Tom

I’m just going to set a time to take mine to a luthier. It needs to have the nut ground down anyway so the low g fits better. Hopefully they can show me how to do it once they see it.

This is great. However I need help with how to restring a Godin Multiuke. I have it in low g, bought it used that way, and want to keep it in low g. I can’t find a tutorial anywhere so far. Thanks.

The Godin is just a tie bridge and regular headstock. Everything you need to know about restringing it is covered in this tutorial.

I to have a low G and as I tried to restring it, it will not tighten properly

Hi there, I have an uku withe same bridge like the one show on min 17:00, I was changing the first string and when I tried to make the string go trhough the little hole I realized the knotted end of the previous string got stuck in the hole, I have bee trying to figure out how to fix this with no success. Any ideas ? thanks in advance.

It appears to be the KA-ACP-CTG, which I just restrung (with La Bellas) with the help of this video. It's a lovely instrument.

I a ukulele with no strings, I just got new strings with no instructions there is 1 million people tell you how to replace the strings but they don't tell you de size of the strings and the order they fallow

There are some manual string winders that have a slot to take off pins gently and safely not metal tools, NO!!

Never fully unstring any stringed instrument as you remove all the tension that makes the neck to relax and then you put it back on again and you just unnecessarily put stress on it twice.

I've watched countless masterclasses on instrument maintenance from prominent luthiers, and every single one believes that this is a myth. Besides, how are you going to do any fretboard maintenance without removing all strings? Cleaning, oiling, polishing frets, etc.?

You have to remove all strings to put finger board oil, mica, pickguard, Wax, literally any type of care for your instrument it must be done. 🤷‍♂️
