In this video, we are taking a closer look at the Ulanzi L1 Pro LED cube light. This LED light is similar to other cube lights such as the Lume Cube and the Litra Torch Light. This light does not have as many features and is not quite as bright but it comes in at a much lower price and if you don't need some of the extra features may be a great alternative for some. Due to its lightweight design, it is a great choice for those who wish to mount them on drones. In this video, we do a brightness comparison against the Lume Cube and the Litra Torch Light.

Thanks, I’ve been needing to get more lights. I have a dive light, but the micro-usb port got bent and I can’t charge it anymore. I think the Ulanzi will work fine with my setup, using the 3-light positioning, and also compact for darker parts in areas inside where I film.

I got litra. It is very sturdy and it has 3 lighting scales. It is really funny how this little torch, literally, turns night into day. Great combo with gopro 7.

Thanks, this comparison was interesting and helpful :) Not sure if you’re looking for feedback, but I think the brightness comparison at the end would have been better without the fading in between. Because of the fade and how close they are in brightness, it was hard to see what subtle differences there were

I have two of these Ulanz L1 Pro lights mounted under my DJI Osmo Mobile 3 Phone gimbal and they work well in tandem in dark places . It's also nice that I can get three of them for the price of a Lume Cube. LC is better by measure , But not three times better.

Nice comparison of the LED cube lights. Can you please make a review of a DJI Mavic 2 Hand Catch Handle? Its meant for handcatching the mavic 2 pro/zoom on a moving vehicle/boat. Thanks as usual for your helpful review videos! Keep them coming!

Thanks for the comparison video. The Ulanzi was visibly a bit less brighter compared to its more expensive competition. Probably, just about good value for money...like most Ulanzi products.

I wanted to take photos with my phone that the lighting would look like a disposable camera. I wanted to be crazy cheap and I also that I can use it as a flashlight (so I can have it with me even if not for taking photos, and still be useful for me) But I wanted to know if it makes a big difference between the L1 and just a phones flash? I would have loved to see all three lit scenes side by side at the end of the video as screen grabs. But overall great video.

True, side by side comparison would be nice. But the reviewer hit it on the target with the Ulanzi re: no spec details. It's so important to know what the lumens are, battery time, light range in kelvin, etc. Granted if you don't need it for other than just lighting up some area, it's a great value.

Agreed it does but the ulanzi is 1/4 of the cost for over half the brightness, hmmmm I went with the cheapie, we'll see if it lasts then I'd say it's a fair purchase for the price of 30$ ish. If you get a lemon then not Likley lol

Ulanzi broke after running it for a few minutes, and the filters it came with were already scratched up out of the box, the light wouldn't turn off when testing out the brightness

Did any have a filter ? I'm sure that would help spread and make the L1 like the litra with spread, but make it dimmer ? For 30$ though vs 120$+ I mean.... Depends how serious you are for most people it's probably adaqueate? It's literally 1/4 of the price couldn't you buy 2 ? Lol

I assume we will see it launched alongside the hero 8 this fall. I hope it comes in at a more reasonable price point. There’s a lot a 360 competition right now so hopefully they don’t make it too expensive

Ulanzi L1 projects a more "calming" light which is not too bright and is much more affordable too.

USB-C & having a smaller form factor and lower weight makes that one really really interesting, but the maximum output is lackluster. I really wish that either: *LITRA* goes USB-C and manages to make them even smaller _or_ *ULANZI* cranks up the output (and adds a fill filter)

A lumen statement is useless unless the distance that the measurement was taken is also a part of the disclosure...

Actually, that statement is not true. If a company is using the ANSI/IES RP-16-10 (US) standard (which any respectable company does due to government regulations), then 1 lumen has a base test requirement and specifications that everyone is using. So therefore any light that lists the lumens and is ANSI tested, can be compared to any other using the same standard. It is true that the lumens do change based on distance, but the statement that a lumens statement is useless is incorrect.
