Don't forget to tell people to pack in a backpack or duffel bag, not a wheeled suitcase. They have to carry it upstairs on the first night. And out on the last day. Also an ink pen. There's paperwork to fill out in the airport on the way Gallon zip lock bags are optional, but can be useful for all kinds of things, including sorting your stuff and holding documents A sleep mask and ear plugs can be useful Lol I also tell people to leave the air force shirt at home.

bruh the biggest mistake i made was literally bringin my whole entire room with me no joke i sold a ton of my things before i left and i made $2,000 but i literally brought four bags with me two rollers and two bags and comin back from basic military training and tech school after i graduated from tech school i brought back eight bags with me 🤦🏾♂️😂

@@tpro106 I’m going to be 100% honest I am not a studier but I did buy the book my recruiter told me to and did the practice tests in it. It was the ASVAB prep by Kaplan. There’s also tons of online tests and things you can do.

@@tpro106 I didn’t get the option to do the PICAT so I’m not sure. Contact a local recruiter and tell them you are interested in joining. There is a practice ASVAB you can take at their office that uses an algorithm to see where you’ll score on the real one. I scored a 66 on the practice and scored a 70 something on the real one. Take it, see where you are at, then study in the sections you were weakest in. The ASVAB is pretty simple when you break it down. Use the process of elimination. Narrow it down and re-arrange the questions until you are confident in one of the answers. That’s what I did and it was so helpful. Good luck and you got this!

Appreciate your channel a lot brotha! Currently 27 and joining the Air Force so your channel has been a great resource. Took the ASVAB and got a 88 with a 80 and above on my line scores. Taking the EDPT in a few days and just waiting on a financial waiver so I can take my physical. My current top job choice it’s Computer Systems Programmer or Linguist, any opinions on those career fields? I’m also open to most things in electronics or something medical. None the less take care and stay blessed!

@@Jodywithawhy thanks for the good wishes! I actually did qualify for linguist and was honest with everyone at MEPS. Put it is my number one pick and my recruiter is saying I have a high chance. Your channel is a godsend bless you brotha! I was thinking you should do a video on the all the lesser known benefits the military has and how to really extract everything you can from it.

That awesome you got to qualify for linguist. Glad it worked out for you. As far as linguist, I’m not too experienced on the career field. I just know you’re doing a lot of interpreting language and the schools are very long. But I hear it’s a very rewarding job, and good opportunities on the outside civilian world.

It will get transferred to your bank account but takes a while, cant use that card outside of bmt. No where else accepts it.

One thing to note, my recruiter told me they stopped issuing BMT glasses; however, if you were to break your own pair during bmt only then would they issue a pair to you. I’m leaving for BMT on March 19th, looking forward to it 🙂

Either or would be fine. They’ll issue you a duffel bag when you get to basic (I think they do, they did when I went through 17 years ago 😅). But it doesn’t matter which you bring, just don’t pack too much.

I need to know what is thw time frames of medical waivers? Is there a chart or documenta that says such. My son is waiting for a couple of waivers...I have people telling me it can take up to year or two? But recruiter said 7-14 days who to should we trust? Thanks and glad you're rested and doing well! My son has an IEP (only) and heart murmer thats already ruled out by his heart doctor as well as ADHD with no meds what so ever. Thanks

These can take anywhere from 7-30 days. It just depends on how many records were submitted.

You can, you just don’t want to overpack. So just a laptop or tablet would be fine, but like a PlayStation would be doing too much.

It depends on the base. Not every reserve unit has a SERE mission. You’d have to talk with the recruiter and see if they have the mission.

I know I need a waiver and I've gone and talk to my doctor who said she'll right a letter. I was just wondering if I would need anything else or if you had any advice while talking to my recruiter. The Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 40 are good, and the Brooks Hyperion Tempos are good too. You can never go wrong with the Nike Vaporfly 3’s but they’re a bit expensive.

They have to purchase their own flights and travel arrangements. It’s also highly encouraged they get refundable or transferable tickets, because your graduation date can change. Ex. You get hurt, you get sick or you get in trouble, all of those scenarios could potentially affect your graduation date.

You need the original transcript or certified copy. You can’t just print it out. Also, you need the contact info for anyone you plan on attending your graduation. That way you can send out invitations. If your siblings are younger than 18, it won’t be necessary.

You can switch and wouldn’t have to do MEPS again. You may have to take a personality assessment test though. That’s a mandatory test to join the Air Force.

You have to complete the N-400 form application prior to shipping to ensure your citizenship is expedited. If you don’t do this, your citizenship will be delayed. If you do this, you can expect your citizenship by the end of basic training or tech school.

The Air Force will give you a card at basic training with $400 on it for you to get any items you need. They also provide a bag to you in basic full of items. As far as a duffel bag, you can use a backpack instead. That will be fine.
