@candyman buy as cheap as you can. Build entry level, sub $400 PCs. There's so many kids in the $200-300 range who just want a computer but "can't afford it" (aka not really willing to do the research). Figure out which cheap cases come with ARGB and aren't a total bitch to build in for under $60. Buy like 5. Look out for the cheapest deals, only buy on sale (RAM, SSD), get coolers from China. Use the opportunity to teach yourself. Overclock RAM and tune timings, push that i3 10100F to the edge. Get a good deal on an i7 4790k? Buy a delidding kit, some liquid metal and push it to 5Ghz - buy some DDR4 2400 and push it to 2666 or beyond. Benchmark Fortnite, Valorant, Minecraft, GTA5 or whatever is popular in your region. Give as much info as you can, let people know you're a hobbyist and build some trust on local marketplaces.

Nice video, I hope you keep making these kind of videos a lot more. BTW, would be nice to have power usage during test matching the temperatures too. I believe a hotter board will also use more power to run and converts that extra power to heat.

Great video with the info that we need. Just wondering if the ASUS ProArt X670E-Creator WiFi 6E was considered (as if ASUS needed to add even more X670E boards). Given it has the 2 PCI-E 5.0 slots and 10G Ethernet and tons of I/O connectors it seems a reasonable alternative @ a midrange price point ($500 at the time of this post) for those of us that abhor RGB with every fiber of our being.🤓

I'm kinda disappointed that there were no benchmarks aside from the thermals, unlike in your previous AM5 motherboard review video. The specs for them all I have no issues looking up on my own too, but I can't benchmark more than the single motherboard I will be buying. This is why I valued the previous video a lot, and why this one fell a bit flat for me. Regardless, thanks for the content tho!

Thanks for the comparisons, its a shame you never got a hold of (or ASUS never sent you) the ASUS X670E ProART Creator Wifi board, as it offers a far better price/features over the other high-end boards in the video (400-700 range) and from my own benchmarking with a 7900X is rock solid and cool running. My HWBot benchmarking results using the Corsair H150i Elite Capellix (prior version to the AIO used in your testing) and the same case albeit the airflow version are up there competing with custom loops and LN2 setups and those benchmarks were using out of the box settings so I could compare against any UEFI tweaks I make down the road.

@@rare6499 afaik they are both 2x8+2 (16+2) 70A setups, but I know for sure the ProART has smart power stages (SPS), I don't know if the X670E-A has SPS or not - in any case all of the X670E/non-E series boards VRMs are way overbuilt so you do not even need to worry about which setup a board has unless you are going for OC records and using exotic cooling. The ProART also has a supplementary PCIE 6 pin power socket next to the 24 pin power socket to support up to 60W USB fast charging on front panel connectors instead of sucking power from the PCIE slots, kinda neat.

Post updated. After 2 msi x670e carbon Killing my ssd and getting one m.2 port dead, I replaced the motherboard for the gigabyte x670e aorus master. I couldn't be more happier with. Better board overall than the msi, better quality. Absolutely no issues with in 4 months. Bios 12 has been rock solid for me. Original post: I am happy with my msi mpg x670e carbon... I tried the gigabyte x670 asrock steel legend and the asrock taichi. I experienced a lot of issues with the others brands. And I couldn't determine what was wrong, the msi was the only one that pointed to the memory RAM, and I replaced the ram and problem solved.

At that time I had protected plan for my motherboard, so I replaced fot the Gigabyte X670E aorus master, nicer board, with a black plate. The bios 12 is sooolid. Absolutely no issues with it in at least in 4 months, I wouldn't go back. Also I had to send Mi MSI 4080 for RMA and they were not nice, so I am avoiding MSI on future... I thought there was going to be a performance comparison as well. ASUS board have a feature that allows Ryzen 7000 CPUs to boost past 5.5GHz in an all-core load that is not supported anywhere else, as far as I know. Similarly, ASUS has memory timing profiles for all DDR5 ICs that are, from my experience, up to 20% faster than the EXPO profiles. I believe AsRock also has something similar. Are you guys planning a follow up to this video with features like that? Or would that be just ridiculously too much work? I know 22 motherboards is a huge amount.

Yeah some people complain about no cheap motherboards, I complain that out of all motherboards in any price range only selected few actually come with features like USB4... I mean it's not only long overdue with prevalence of Thunderbolt but also future proof. I've sat on X99 motherboard with USB3.1 (which at the time everyone was asking why would I need it back then) 8 years until last month and the cost was worth EVERY penny (Asus X99-E WS/3.1, legendary motherboard with 7 full size PCIe x16 slots). I look at some of AM5 boards and they're just dreadful - and people are happy to buy them because they don't need more in their lives than some basic gaming... Granted I do plug in a lot of peripherals that hog bandwidth beyond mere mouse and keyboard most users do. I went with ProArt from Asus with integrated 10G Ethernet to connect NAS.

I mean they did include Taichi which isn't gaming as much as it is creator/workstation oriented - so I think rather than will, the availability was the problem.
