Just found your channel. Quality videos; you've got the info, you explain your reasons, it's clear, and do so in just 15 minutes. Keep up the good work. I'm trying rapier + X and I agree it's fun, requires skill, and, well, it would be soooo much easier just to equip a greatsword :)

the int gems don't increase your bleed damage at all whereas opal does, which is why we use it

I playing bow and rapier so im thinking to make bleed build. But should i put 250 int for flourish? But my bow only getting dex bonus what im gonna do? xD Also i used V tier Opal gem for my rapier. So do i need runeglass gem or my opal is enough?

My dude i need urget help, i crafted some rapiers for this build and i have a choise to use omni evade/keenly empower and i have choise in 3rd perk vicious or enchanted?

Damn sorry I’m over a month late to this, they’re both super good options but for this build I’d go for vicious since it’ll apply to the tondo and flourish and finish attacks!

Hi are you sure that runeglass gems do not increase your bleed damage? On PTR I did put in punishing runeglass gems in my armour and it increased my bleed damage from 171 to 177. I have not tested it on live yet.

What do u think about attunement over shirking element ? Im playing this build with bow if bruiser comes to me im able to punish him so sometimes i cant apply the shirking element so i think attunement more consistent what u think

Attunement is more consistent. Shirking element is great in groups fights where its easy to proc. Its also base damage and not empower so you wont hit the cap. Burst damage is very important in the game and that exta 40% damage can help. It is apparently getting nerfed to only proc on one hit and not a group hit from what I read in the ptr but who knows.

attunement is definitely more consistent! the only reason why i have shirking is cause it was the only 3 perk rapier with KE/Omnidirectional evade

Ice guantlet have been tempting me. How do u make up for the lack of gap closing and mobility in opr? Vs all those pesky bows and muskets ofc. Great video btw!

the only thing i can think of for ranged pressure with ice gauntlet/rapier is taking ice storm and trying to land a heavy freeze, its a rough matchup unfortunately edit - destroy the cod enjoyers always

Does this burst build still work? Have tried the setup outlined in the first video and can’t get near the 5.2k burst you got, get about 3k now with that same setup

its hard to say and definitely does feel a lot worse, a lot of that has to do with the desert sunrise food as well as the huge strength of melees, i think ill have to release an update when the season 1 patch comes out and melees are toned down a little!

Apologies for the late response, I don’t think it’s super suitable for PvE since Evade/Flurry are must haves for that sort of content

Sorry for the super late reply! If you’re using the bleed build it would be Keenly Empowered/Omnidirectional Evade with any 3rd perk, but if you’re not using the bleed build perks like vicious, sundering riposte and keenly empowered work nicely on the rapier!

In the next patch, FnF will not stagger anymore. Rapier Bleed was already off-meta, and now this... Ty Amazon! (sorry for bad english)

Punishing runeglass does increase your bleed. 0/5 Runeglass I was doing 172 per tick, to 179 per tick @ 5/5 punishing glass in armor. Minor increase, but considering your bleed lasts ~18 seconds with blood letting +250 int. So kinda ok-ish

for rapier/fs it depends on what abilities you're running, but get empowering fireball on the fire staff and sundering riposte or omnidirectional evade on rapier, then fit whatever other perks you need in any slot

@@samroscoe944 Yeah, but they need balance more things there. GS have everything, or almost every buff/debuff in the game, and actually u can have extra new one extra that only GS have xD And the issue that cause s don't evade the dmg/slows make the situation even worst

Problem is the tracking more then anything GS is really easy to see its combos. The new slows when it hits plus this insane reach and tracking makes those combos land often. Reminds me somewhat of old GA tracking that was around 6m/light roll.

what i ntoiuced with rapeir bleed build, it really only works with bad players. With the players you kill with the bleed build, you can kill with almost anything. The only other good thing about the build is it can kill healers due to bleed stacks, but thats if your not getting 1v2d. it takes a good amount of time to run up stacks. Its a very cool montage based build but it just takes to long to et stacks set up and very difficlut in 1vx situations.

not true at all, you can use this on good players just as you can bad, however good players will obviously make it harder to execute. 1vX can be hard, especially with greatsword in the game, but it can be pulled off if you kite enough and find the right opportunities

sorry for the super late reply - its definitely worth getting back into New World but as a returning player I don't recommend this as your first build since it can be challenging to get value from it, hope to see you back in New World!

For me best build is 150 dex and 100 con. Because it hard to find ring with 3perks. Blood, hearty and punishment. I prefer blood and punishment. And 150 dex give me oppurtunity to ignore perk Hearty. Yes, I lose 500 hp and 10% resilent. But it give big burst boost(16% from ring + 80-120 damage for dex att). My second change its amulet. In opr i fighting vs slash damage. So i put in amulet slash protection and shirking. I loose 800 hp more but i get from 17.5% to 27% slash protection. Its around 55% boost. I dont care about muskets. They will destroy me with perk health and 150 con.

i dont really have a consistent phys/ele % split, i normally just go something like 12.5& phys 7.5% ele

Nimble is currently not working. Unless its been updated in the last patch

@LionAD 10% is noticeable when slowed down. Basically what I saw was a side by side of someone in arena on the Stam food (cranberry compote + nimble) and in town with neither. Both regen rates were identical. I'm not sure how slow it was bit enough that if there was a difference at all it could be seen.

Rapier Flourish and Finish no longer staggers. Flurry’s final upgrade Finalize upgrade no longer staggers and was reworked to apply a stack of the bleed used by the rest of the tree on successful hit. Is this rapier building dead? I wanted to start using it (Sorry for the bad English, I'm Brazilian)

Im watching these intently as I've just hit lvl 60 went into pvp after getting some pvp gear and causing everyone ZERO damage

Ooo congrats on level 60! It can be rough heading into PvP at first and I recommend trying a more typical/meta build before experimenting with something like this just so you don’t get turned off PvP instantly! Goodluck have fun though!! :D

I've come to 2 conclusion about the devs when it comes to rapier. 1 they don't understand what place it plays in pvE or pvP, and 2 they have nerfed it so much (death from a thousand cuts) that they might as well redo the entire tree. have the tree is useless.

phrasing the rapier nerfs as death by a thousand cuts is so fitting for the theme for the weapon hahaha! totally agree, i know the devs need to do things about rapier/lifestaff however they should seriously stop butchering the creative and enjoyable ways of playing the DPS rapier

I was waiting on your update, especially concerning weapon pairing. Though i don't understand the outrage about GS. As a GS player, i can't outrade bruisers, and rapier users have massive advantage because of faster animations. Gs is more a mage or noob killing weapon. I'm usually very careful against blood tree rapiers, or i have to quickly pull hatchet and run for my life

interesting, from my experience they just seem to have everything - numerous buffs, debuff cleansing, debuff application, grit, insane damage, mobility, lockdown, anti-lockdown etc etc when i do try it ill probably make a video on it and maybe that will change my opinion :)

TierV Desert Sunrise is still broken and does not show. The highest Tier I think is still 3 which is 12.5 There is also bugs when it does nothing depending on buffs or other items you have but my company has not really tested it much. PVP is honesty pretty dead... deny it all you want. Just the truth. No Pvp update in the roadmap and we may see OPR cross server in 6-9 months according to the dev video. Oh joy The current dev team for this game has got to be pretty bare bones.

oh wow i didnt know that thank you! and unfortunately they are handling pvp really badly at the moment and im hardly motivated to play it myself and the roadmap just made it worse, but im hopeful for a better future :)
