In batting practice and especially with tee work, you should try to hit everything up the middle and oppo, just because oppo is where most people struggle. But in game hit it where it’s pitched. Most hitters can’t hit an inside pitch oppo without getting jammed

Yea, Gwynn does emphasize the importance of being able to go oppo but I’ve never heard him say to go oppo with everything.

Every BP my coach throws outside to go the other way and then he mixes them up with his knuckleball the second round

im 13 and I want to start playing baseball but the season already started so I cant join, I don't have a bat, and I don't have any friends to hit with. I just play catch with my dad. Do they do winter baseball for me to join?

Should you be swinging down for backspin or up for topspin?

Swing down on the ball, which then gets your bat path on plane with the ball. Bring on plane with the ball allows you to hit for back spin in order to crush baseballs.

I feel like I’m misjudging the ball and swinging higher instead of getting on plane with it

I’ve been very late recently and idk why. I hit .410 this summer and hit the ball all over but now I’m starting to struggle to catch up with pitches. It’s not any faster.. I’m 15 fastballs are about 72-78 MPH. But I just am not seeing the ball like I used to for some reason

I'm literally having the same exact problem and I'm 15 too. I hit great last year but now in fall ball I'm struggling. I know exactly what you're talking about! 😅

It’s the speed, as it picks up you need to do some faster BP work. My son was struggling with LL because in 12U the monsters were throwing gas at 46 feet now at 60/90 he is seeing it longer he is doing better so I attribute that to the pitch speed . When I was taking him to the faster cages he would do better we just couldn’t get to the cages before every game 🤷🏻‍♂️
