With DJI being so good at everything else one would think they could figure this tracking out. Is like risking a crash every time you use it.

Thanks for this video and all you have done before. I am new to drones and loving watching yours since I got my Mini 4 Pro. You have serious guts to fly your drone in these situations for us, I get nervous for you seeing your drone do such dangerous maneuvers! Also, who the heck comments on someone's walking style for a drone channel, those people need to get a life for real. Hope it doesnt cause to very much pain. As someone who has similar issues that are painful, I would do my best to ignore them, they will someday understand what it is like to have issues such as hip issues! Sorry, just had to chime in about that.

Great video, I’m enjoying it while testing my mini4. I think part of the issue with tracking in front is that if you are not moving it cannot clearly interpret what ‘in front of you’ is.

I’ve been doing so much research into the DJI Mini 4 pro and as a first time drone if I do decide to get one I think it’s an amazing little drone with a plethora of features for the size and price of it you do get a whole lot bunched into it and it I think after many reviews that I’ve seen on it I’ll be picking one up very soon.

Great test / demo - thank you for doing this! The more I keep watching yours (and other vids), I keep getting more turned off by the obstacle avoidance and the fiddling/messing around with it. In addition, I am a bit spoilt now by having used the HoverAir X1 for a while now where you've not got any of this (obviously with much less parameters to set and less flexibility). IF I was going to do a lot of tracking vids of myself in slightly more open spaces, then I could see the attraction of it - but it's not good enough for me to upgrade from the M3P. Keep up the great work and keep 'em coming!

I'm still not sure if the mini 3 pro does not do a better job at tracking from behind. I know that the mini 3 Pro sees 25m into the front instead of 18m of the Mini 4 Pro. The Mini 4 should react a bit faster but I'm still thinking you can see and feel the extra 7m of the Mini 3 Pro

I think it does fine. Sometimes I dont know what people expect from a sub 250gr drone to do. Or any drone for that matter. And sometimes i just dont know what kind of filming people expect to do with a drone while walking through a forest maze full of branches and stuff to begin with... it is not the correct equipment to use for such a scenario... do you really need a drone to film you from a distance of 2 meters through dense woods? Drone makes sense in more open spaces for its lens to capture the surrounding area and framing beautiful shots. Its not a tool to replace every other filming equipment there is out there. Its not a gopro camera. EDIT: Btw I am not directing this msg to Tech Drone Media of course but rather a lot of people in the comment section who seem to me that they do not understand the actual purpose of a drone. All these active tracking tests that a lot of youtubers are nowadays required to make because of high demand, make little sense and do not provide much useful information.

Can you successfully plug in your mini 4 pro into iPad or MacBook to export videos? I can’t, it says no photos or videos to import. I also can’t insert the micro sd card into a reader and plug it into an iPad or MacBook. Says no photos or videos to import. I can do that with no problems with Mavic Air 2

You select a following direction when you are still, the direction maybe not so accurate. But you can click the direction twice and the drone will adjust.

Can you tell me if there still a limit to how low you can be when active tracking a vehicle? Trying to use Active track with the mini 3 when driving through a forest is useless. Ideally you should be able to fly as low as you are in this vid, would make for much better shots!

I think it's messing up with tracking if Inner circle is say 2m and when trying to make it go round an obstacle that would make drone move within the 2m boundary it's stopping because it can't go closer to you.maybe close trees etc you need to make inner perimeter closer so drone has room to move round you better.

The problem with the new active track is that the drone always assumes it is behind you when you start. You need to be able to set a start position before pressing GO

When you are doing these tests, are u covered by the DJI Refresh Insurance? Would they fix it if it had a mishap that was not your fault? Thanks and great vids! :)

Can you test the DJI mini 3 pro Active track vs Dji mini 4 pro Active track? maybe fly them both at the same time ?

Obviously the 360 tracking mode isn't perfect. It needs some finetuning and I think it can be done with software.

Your KZfaq videos scare the do da out of me have the mini 3 Pro but just ordered the 4 Pro love the video just don't think add have the bits to fly it in that way my friend

If you turn to face the drone and then tell it to track from the front, it is already in front of you as you turned to face it. That is not a fair test. The drone can only react to where you are, not where you are going to be

If they worry about walking style, they need to get a better life. I’ve people walk all different ways who never had anything wrong. If you can get around without problems, who the heck cares. You’re walking fine. Trek on!

Get a Skydio. Stop testing and start using. Forget trying to control the drone's settings and focus on the event. WIll DJI ever figure out that this can't be done without a GPS beacon to assist on keeping track of the subject?
