I mean... It's the hardest layer on any difficulty, but it was definitely still a shock on Brutal. Really only 7-1 was *that much* harder and it's the damn Minotaur that had most of the deaths.

I think the text in the lore book refers too how gutterman require blood like any other machine, but in the early parts of the war, they required a sort of sacrifice so a person would be put into the casket on the back of gutterman and would be kept alive for the blood to power it. So the book could be the writing of a gutterman regretting his sorrows of war.

I kid you not, my first time beating Gabe 2 on an actual difficulty was on brutal mode with just the new slab marksman. An hour and a half and 265 deaths later, I did it. Was it fun? Kinda. Would I recommend it? ABSOLUTELY not. But I'm proud of myself and that's what matters.

Ultrakill impressed the idea of stamina management onto me so strongly that anytime I hear the "Out of Stamina" sound, I take psychic chip damage. So I think I can actually understand some of what drives a lot of the unfortunate desire to backseat in the UK community, because sometimes it __is__ a bit hard to watch Dumpman. It'd be interesting to see how this desire correlates with various factors in the playerbase and what can be done to minimize that sort of reaction.

I could say a lot more about this, but I'm gonna just disagree that there's anything particular that *I do* that causes backseating, I've seen people both way worse and way better at the game than me get backseated to the same degree, it is an absolute plague on this community and there is no hard and fast 'rule' as to what causes it in my experience. I'd challenge the entire notion that it's on the streamer to not play in such a way that incites backseating or whatever you're suggesting too, it should be as simple as "did the streamer ask for it?" If "no", then don't do it! Like, you've chosen to watch *someone else's* experience with the game, if the way they're playing bothers you so much, I recommend closing the video or stream and just booting up the game and playing it the way you'd like instead.

Everyone can watch the same person play the game, but only some will feel the urge to backseat. I was just wondering what it is about someone psychologically that would result in them feeling the desire to backseat, compared with those who don’t. And also what it is about Ultrakill specifically that makes that behavior more prominent (beyond the obvious of “It skillful shooty game.”)
