9:15 Conclusion
In which I do a comparison review of the classic Therm-a-rest Z Seat and the generic ultralight foam sit pad that you often see floating around on the trail and on ultralight web sites. They are both simple closed cell foam sit pads, but there are some key differences that I discuss. Overall, the Z Seat is probably a bit more comfortable and durable, but if you want the lowest possible weight and size, the generic UL foam sit pad wins out and is comfortable enough. Now if you want the ultimate comfort, you will probably benefit from an inflatable sit pad like the Klymit V Seat. Of course, an inflatable pad is heavier and runs the risk of developing a hole.
