A few weeks back, I bought the Umidigi A5 Pro from Amazon to test out. It looks great for a phone so cheap! But how does it feel to use?

This one looks very nice for countries such as mine where people tend to buy cheaper phones. It looks nice, works well and costs "nothing"

Yeah! My only real reservation is the question of whether it will last, but at $120, I guess you could just replace it cheaply enough.

btw I think my standards for cameras is pretty low? I'd consider the 2016 SE to be a perfectly decent camera...

A great review , thank you for thinking about budget users like us too What do you reccomend buying 400$ a phone with an excellent camera like a pixel a series or buying a 250$ camera and a budget 250$ phone im not a heavy performance user.

I think it depends on what are you going to use the camera for. Are you going to carry it around everytime to get every important moment? Because that is the role a smartphone takes, when it has a good camera. You don't miss the nice moments anymore because your camera was bad or too slow.

You probably won't get a decent camera for that price range so I'd go "all out" on a better smartphone. The Pixel 4a is rumored to be $399, and it looks awesome. That'd be my recommendation if you can wait. If not, the Pixel 3a is great too, if not a bit dated. The iPhone SE (2020) is your best bet if you're looking for iOS on a budget.

Hey man nice video. Are there other brands like Xiaomi or Realme in the Amazon US? I think they are better value than this phone, with better software and better processors.

Unrelated question but your Canon FD camera tho, do you do a lot of film photography? :D Maybe a film camera review for the next video please? Btw I love that Canon FD 50mm 1.4 lens, I use it on my Sony because developing films is just so expensive those days :P

I used to do a bit, but now I just collect them! Like you said, developing film is crazy expensive. I haven't actually tried adapting my FD lenses to Sony E, maybe I should try.

@@MarkSpurrell They are amazing to use on a Sony, buttery smooth focus, and the metal build just feel really good in your hands. The color rendition is beautiful, those lenses are also super sharp. The only thing other people complained to me was the lens flare (But I LOVE them ). I do own a few new FE lenses but the by wire manual focus mechanism drives me nuts. You have so much control with a mechanical lens like the FD. That 50mm FD is my go-to, and permanently mounted on my A7s.

@@MarkSpurrell I've been using this cheap Fotasy Adaptor for years without problems. www.amazon.com/Fotasy-Canon-Mirrorless-Camera-Adapter/dp/B00WTQAMJW There are other more expensive options (linked below) , but tbh since it is just a dumb mechanical tube with no electronic components, i'd rather buy cheap and replace if it broke than buying a $100+ adapter briansmith.com/gear/sony-lens-adapters/

I would, but it's a really expensive phone here in Canada (over $1600), and there's not all that much demand for it it seems so I really wouldn't get my money back for making videos on it :(

I’d recommend a used iPhone 6s for a person just a little bit more and worth it cause it’s got support for iOS 14

The design is for sales. Even if they made a more usable phone but with a mediocre build, in the eyes of regular consumers, it's not an interesting one.
