I have the polar on a fpv wing and it's amazing how well it does in the almost pitch dark! But does need a bit of light to work well
@MCsCreations2 жыл бұрын
For me the Polar has a edge... But the Phoenix isn't bad at all! Both are pretty comparable. Great comparison, dude! Thanks! 😊 Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

Wow that low light performance is pretty good. Sometimes when it’s hot af during the day a little night flying is required.

Tommy, what is your preferred lens size? I did an experiment using a 8mm and 2.1mm lens switching back and forth to see the difference while flying a fixed wing with a Matek F765. I felt much more comfortable with 8mm because it felt more relatable to normal vision.

Great presentation, interesting video, good work, my friend.

you could already consider this as being an option for night flight? I mean in comparison to the iPhone 11 shot (which is totally black) you get a very clear bright image with both of them. ^ Im looking for a cam that works in ultra lowlight condition. would this be an option?

They both seem good. The days are getting shorter. I am going to have to get a low light camera for sure. Pretty soon it will be dark after work. Especially after the time change. They must not be able to get the IC components that allow the cameras to be 120fps. I went from a T-Rex camera on analog to the Nebula v2 and the latency was so disorientating to me. I almost couldn't stand it but I stuck with it and I don't notice it at all now. It feels as normal as the latency did on my analog setups.

i feel like the polar has a vastly better dynamic range, but overshaprens edges in daylight, still i prefer its look and maybe you can reduce sharpening in the osd
@daich2 жыл бұрын
honestly i feel the 60fps cameras are good enough, especially after they improved on the non pro nebula line. the key here is, if you bring quads to a session with both dji cameras and 60fps cameras....don't fly the dji cameras first, fly them last.

100% the Polar! The Image is so much better and the finer noise you can reduce easy in post. But you can not get more Information out of the blocky Image from the Phoenix.

Someone needs to fly a Bando at night with a Polar and a high powered flashlight. Could be a good Halloween themed edit.

i'm not sure the pheonix is supposed to be a low light cam? the original pheonix was about to be scrapped by runcam until oscar liang insisted it was a great daylight cam. anyway, the polar does look better in general. ps. i think theres a polar nano

Yeah that polar is doing a better job, sharper image, better contrast, the phoenix seemed way grainy/soft.
@badraven95322 жыл бұрын
And yet............... I have seen another compare video where the results were the other way around, the Phoenix HD being better significantly better contrast and sharper focus. Therefore it seems to me that the variances of the build process and components allow for quite drastically varying results. An example of HOW variable cameras can be? I have four CADDX ANT cameras, one is (was) FAR less satisfactory as it was supplied, poor focus, dirt inside lens, nasty contrast. Had to dismantle it and I managed to clear all its issues. I'd therefore take all these single example of each compare videos with a very large pinch of salt. If I'd bought that one first, I'd have never bought any more!

As popular FPV KZfaqrs mention the need for more 120fps cameras, camera companies will have to make more of an effort to produce them.

the sensors are just not available. this is the camera companies doing the best they can with whats available.

made for night flying 60 fps brings in alot more light then 120fps would be worthless put 120 fps on a night camera also you show off your led lights

@gadgetmerc2 жыл бұрын
both caddix and runcam openly admit they aren't nearly as good as the 120fps cameras. the 120fps sensors aren't available so its 60fps or back to analog.
