Great interview, thanks for giving UmTi a place where he can express his thoughts more. It has been great seeing him in all the content so far and we appreciate how outgoing he is to always be willing to step up for it. I know he has talked in the past about CQ not being as succesful and all of TL queueing up for it at the same time and hope he knows that there are fans out there that notice that, even if there weren't many games we know he tried which is more than we can say about some others.

I've been saying for years that BO1 format is a huge part of the reason for the west failing to meet expectations every year. BO3 is a true marker of who's the better team on the day, and it drives improvement forward more than BO1. There are 0 competitive negatives for BO3 to not be standard in all leagues. Teams get more stage games, BO3 trains players to perform in BO5 and the audience gets to watch a higher standard of play across the board. BO1 is simply easier for quick entertainment, but what drives esports is exciting competition not entertainment. Seriously laughable to me that the west hasn't adopted BO3 format, it actively dilutes the level of international competition, which is boring.

the problem is riot will just stack bo3 on the weekend like idiots, instead of putting the games accross the week and doing 2 bo3 per day

What about when LCS had BO3 back in 2016? And when TSM lost in groups everyone complained about our teams not being used to the variability of BO1 at worlds while EU had BO1 experience as their regular season format

@@bucketboy4937 I wasn't as tuned into the League scene from 2016-2018 because I was grinding Overwatch, so I wasn't aware we used to have BO3. 2016 was a long time ago, I don't think the 2016 LoL scene is super comparable to the scene we have today. It was prior to a lot of innovation both by players and esports popularity had yet to peak. My argument to this take would still be in favour of BO3. If not alone for the fact that if you've played BO3 all year, teams have played so many more games than BO1. Easier to adapt to BO1 from BO3 than it is to adapt to B03 from BO1, BO3 creates more experienced players that are better at adapting their draft/playstyle.

L take, not that BS Bo3 narrative again, we watch sports cause it's entertaining and competitive. If IMT vs DIG is goes to 3 matches, the broadcast will be sub 50k viewers if even Sports like soccer have bo1s and no loser's bracket. I guarantee that DRX would have never won worlds if there was a loser's bracket

This was an awesome interview. It's really great how when UmTi isn't sure of a word, you can translate for him on the fly. Great rapport, and great questions!

I’ve been loving the interviews from you! I’ve been loving the players even more! This is the most I’ve felt connected to the players. Same goes for the LCS group player interviews.

Honestly BO1 is the problem for EU and NA as well. I really think both the west major league should do BO3 format

Riot needs to start doing huge solo q payouts idk
@Listless52284 ай бұрын
nah. this is a mistake and a fake fix. the players in soloq dont care because they dont aspire to be pro players, that is not on riot and paying will not magically change people. at this point just deal with the bad soloq and focus on scrims. umti said he still played 200 soloq games, soloq will keep you in the game, you can improve with scrims and competitive.
