It is a nice scanner but it is not a digital p25 phase 1 or 2 scanner that most cops are on.but it is still good ham analog scanner.

I have 436 hp p25 phase 1 and 2 digital and analog trunk 5 .that is new ones you need to pic up digital p25.there's bunch new ones out.he is lucky he pick up analog police.

I agree, every public service org. is changing over to P25 , Ph 1 & 2......actually it's an antique. I also have a BC436HP scanner too.....I love it

Hi, I’m looking on eBay for something similar to this, I want one for things like railroad and my local police fire and EMS, now I just want a confirmation this is a digital scanner right? Because a while back we changed our frequencies from analog to digital and I don’t want to buy a useless product! Great review

A uniden scanner is better as it does the 8.33 khz frequency for airband. You won't get much on a scanner these days as emergency services use digital now.

I bought the Whistler ws1010 I'm needing help cant get it to work and I cant find the danm disa number to activate it can anyone help me

The DiSa number is on the bottom of the unit, goto this site, www.getyourcode.com/#/ enter the numbers from the bottom of the unit, and if you legit got the unit from an authorized Whistler dealer, it will give you the Pin to activate the unit. Otherwise, if, like me, I bought it from someone evidently unscrupulous on Ebay, I entered the DiSa numbers and it said the unit was not acquired through authorized dealer, it gives me a warning of such and only 3 tries before it would lock me out for good!!! So no DiSa Pin number for me...😡 Sucks!!!!

You just have find out what the Frequencys are Used for the RR at Your Location and Program them in.

Our city went from EDACS (scrambled digital) to MARCS Which can only be picked up by certain radios) so not knowing which ones I purchased one stating a MARCS but did not pick up locals so I listen on broadcastify for now.

I have a 436 hp uniden.it picks up every system in the us that's not encryption. It pics edacs to.there's nothing out there that this scan canot pick up.its trunk 5 scaner.it even has zip code so you just put your zip code than it automatically download all your town codes that is it.
