Pseudomorph agates😁the conglomerates agates are pretty cool. Also agates from Australia as I love digging them up, cutting them and then polishing them myself. My favourites are Agate creek agates from Queesnland Australia. I have a soft spot for me as my home town is only a hour away from the dig site. Also with the water line agate, aren't they also called sardonyx🤔?

I’ve been waiting for y’all to cover this topic! Agatized fossils similar to the ones you showed are my favorite to collect, as they crop up along certain Lake Michigan beaches. It’s amazing to see how silica solution clings to the remnants of organic forms to make tons of unique patterns. Agates in general are so cool because while they are relatively abundant, every locality has something wildly different to offer. I’m currently traveling up north to find some Lake Superior agates! Wish me luck!

Agates are by far my favorite category of rock. I used to collect them a lot as a kid and I also cut and polished them myself a lot of the time. Unfortunately over the years a lot of my collection has been lost. I still have a few interesting and at least a few fairly rare ones. I have a holly blue, a dendritic agate, moss agate, and a blue lace. I also have others that I've not been able to identify. Eventually I plan to get back into collecting them.

I really miss a friends old property. There was a creek that ran through it and we would walk up and down picking up agates and petrified wood out of it. Unfortunately the house that was there would not have been up to code today nor would it have been a legal place to build it even, but since it had been there for 50, years nobody questioned it. Unfortunately it caught fire and burned down and there is no possible way they could rebuild a house in that spot or on that property even. Not sure if I would be able to go back and wander that Creek or not but I found so many of those different types of agates. So many that I built my own rock tumbler. I found an old treadmill and took the two rollers and motor off of it. Turned it into a rock polisher that I can fit three barrels across at a time and is a lot more sturdy than any store-bought unit. The Shaded pole Motors they put on those wear out in about a year and a half of constant use. I just run this treadmill motor from a 12 volt DC Transformer and it runs at a perfect speed to roll rocks. It's almost like Christmas putting in a barrel full of dirty and scrungy looking rocks, and seeing what beauty lies beneath after a little polishing.

I have been a rockhound and grower of sacred cacti atleast 30 yrs by now. Illinois 19:08 is packed with Great Lake agates or River agates as I’ve always called them. Got to the point one day I looked over at by now what has become one full 5 gallon and a and what seemed like endless ziplock baggies. Now they are all gone! Now they and many many more since litter the soil of all my sacred plants and herbs. I like to think they both like their new arraignment

11:52 While readily available and affordable, collectors should be WARNED: the Marcasite in Nipomo Agate Chalcedony can stain the blue Chalcedony it is in and turn the blue color to Gold over time. I have a large sphere of it, and some of the blue bands of Agate Chalcedony have turned to a Gold color.

3:33 Moss Agate and 4:15 Fire Agate are two examples of official Varieties of Chalcedony according to the G.I.A Gem Identification Lab Manual. Fire Agate Chalcedony is traditionally a MEN'S Stone, which is why you rarely see women wearing it. 4:21 Fire Agate displays Iridescence, NOT Play-of-Color. Play-of-Color is a Phenomenon reserved for Opal only.

Some great stones! I'd never seen some of those! I especially liked the Galaxy agate & rainbow Agates. Gorgeous pieces. You might want to do something about the crazy echoing in your studio that happens on occasion. Maybe invest in some sound deadening foam for your walls, & perhaps use a smaller room? I'm not a sound-engineer, so take my advice with a grain of salt. Cheers!
