With the DB class 111, the Wunder Präzisionsmodelle company has once again created a fascinatingly detailed handcrafted brass model on a scale of 1 : 32. The 524 millimeter long electric locomotive weighs 7.2 kilograms.
The prototype was built a total of 227 times from 1974. The gauge 1 model was staged by Wunder in eight different versions from epochs 4 to 6. For this video and for two reports in specialist magazines, it was available to me on loan, as it was in 1981, in an S-Bahn color scheme from the Cologne Railway Directorate. The list price for this adult toy is 3490 euros.
With the help of a multi-protocol digital decoder LokSound 5XL from ESU, no fewer than 32 functions can be switched, almost all of which can be seen and heard in the video - including the individually electrically movable pantographs. By the way, at the end of the video there is again an extensive test drive with light and sound. I also have this video again with subtitles in German and English.
