A lot of those trouble codes could be left over from some previous repair attempt (successful or not). Best to save the initial report for reference and then clear all the DTC’s (aka Codes) and then restart the vehicle and see which ones come back. Then start your diagnostic work from there.

Kyle, normally the first thing you do with a scan tool is to connect it to your WiFi and create an account and then run all of the software updates to both the scan tool, VCI and the specific vehicle diagnostic routines. Then watch a bunch of Pine Hollow Diagnostics or South Main Auto KZfaq channels to get an idea of the workflow for using one of these scan tools.

Where did you buy it, what website did you use?

I have the Autel MK808BT scan tool, one of there smaller scan tools but I can see most modules and HV batteries voltages and SOH. Great little tool. They do need to fix the screen glare.

You will have to start watching some of Eric O's videos (South Main Auto Repair). His scanner is just for ICE vehicles, but you would see how to navigate the scanner and the tricks of it.

I am starting to see used EV advertisements with battery condition reports from a company called Recurrent. Their report includes estimates of remaining range under various conditions. This is great information for anyone looking to buy a used EV.

FYI it's normal for cars to have a few trouble codes, most of them aren't significant. Lost communication can be due to a momentary glitch which happens occasionally. Also be careful running procedures that might calibrate or reset a module unless you know what you're doing. Programming is another one you can get into trouble with if you don't use a power supply or have the exact right file and configuration data to flash. Most techs use these to scan for codes, collect for live data, reset modules, and run functional tests. I'm curious if this works with Tesla or Rivian because they don't really use a legacy OBDII port like the other established automakers. Maybe you could talk to the guy that worked on the Leaf, he's probably familiar enough to give you an overview.

So I bought this a year ago and my subscription that they gave me for free expired…. I legit can’t code any cars anymore and they require a 1700$ yearly subscription , insanely disappointed at the fact that my machine is basically worthless unless I pay them that money
