You can still do head swaps on them. The zip tie is just covered up to keep kids from getting poked by it. You just take out the stitches that are covering it.

After you reccomended I get a CYO, I immediately went and put some together like I did before and I fell in love again! I'm having a hard time deciding if I'd rather have a classic mold or an Addy mold in the lightest skintone though, they're both great!

She's adorable. About the neck strings-- supposedly they were considered a child hazard in the other places AG sells, so in compliance to those international laws the strings were replaced. The fist doll I can remember was Lea. Every doll after 2017 has the zip ties.

She’s gorgeous. I made an Addy mold, light skin with textured platinum hair, she’s my lil girl with Albinism. I agree the new textured hair isn’t the same as Addy’s textured.

Oh wow she turned out so good I may have to copy. Courtney shoes were only dark pink flats, white boots and reeboks. I think I have her whole wardrobe. I’m a huge fan. No Joss mold yet on CYO. There are custom Joss mold dolls on Etsy. I bet you could commission a custom Allison. I’ve totally lost my mind with AG. 40 dolls in the last year!

Have you tried Maplelea dolls? They are the Canadian version of American Girl Dolls. Very high quality for 18 inch play dolls. I started with AG, but now really love particular Maplelea dolls, especially Saila.

I have one CYO! I like the option. Zip ties can be replaced. It is harder than untying the cord. One possibility for changing to zip ties is that they can’t ship dolls with the cord to Canada because of their safety standards. This issue came up with the 35th Anniversary dolls, who did have cords.

The same shipping dilemma happened to my order. I honestly feel like it was because they were having pretty good sales and the orders were flooding in and they couldn’t hand it off to fedex fast enough. But I was able to snag Rebecca!

The zip ties are to conform to security standards for the EU. Strings aren’t considered safe enough. It’s easy to remove the head that’s zip tied. Cabbage Patch Kids have always had zip ties… you just use a jewelry cutter to pop off the zip tie, remove the head, do whatever, then slip a new zip tie in the neck, zip it shut and cut off the excess plastic. No fiddling around with strings and knots.

Thanks for posting this. I was curious how they'd come packaged. I ordered mine March 8 and because the accessories that I chose are backordered until June 8, I'm not even going to get my doll until then. Now I wish I had chosen different accessories. I don't know how I'm going to be able to wait that long.

She looks so pretty! My dream CYO is a light skin Addy with long, wavy, black hair and dark blue eyes. Unfortunately they removed the dark blue eyes so I'm just sort of waiting and hoping they add them back. But now I'm worried that before long they'll start giving the new eyelashes to the CYO line and I need to get my doll before they do that!
