I recently ordered the McFarlane tyranid Genestealer I was lucky enough to get the Platinum edition but I hit it with a wash to make it look dirtier and I touched up the crust on the head with some Leviathan blue because the crest was the same color as the rest of the body and it just blended in

Got it and Congac likey a lot. Not a big Warhammer guy but enjoy interesting figures I can add to my shelf. Sadly, you must have gotten a late Friday or early Monday produced item. Mine has an almost immaculate paint job. The head was a bit bland so I added a copper wash with some black and red accents and it looks great. Very good in depth review. Liked and subscribed. Gold label is just extra paint from the others but those backpack peg being bent and warp that's happens alot cause it's slightly hallow and think it's the case of not letting it cool enough before putting it together that's something that happen to the waste piece so it's the case of getting a qc issue

Somehow, the extra paint didn't really show in this particular effort from McF. I obviously was not a fan of the QC issue with the backpack. They can do better because they have done better in the past.

@@SpruesNStuds yeah I understand and if you do take one apart and paint it it's going to take alot of heat to get it back together but some hot water and pulling it back in shape would fix the dents

"Gold Label" is just being sold exclusively by a retailer, in this case, Amazon.

Sigh...I expected a little bit more. However, I/ we just end up being disappointed in the end. However for $20, I'll let the painting slide...

Thanks for the review battle brother. I like and will pick it up. Would love to see you do a quick paint make over tutorial. Im sure with a few paint apps you could bring out a lot of those details. cheers.

Thanks for the support as usual Battle Brother. For $20 USD, I cannot complain (except the painting as usual lol). I guess I was expecting a little bit too much with this being labeled as, well, "Gold Label"

Craptastic. Figure itself is cool, put paitjob is... Uhhh... Nonexistent? You know, really wish to see you repaint this one. Gonna do it myself with the gray unpainted version. As always, great review, detailed and informative. Glad that you bought some of the figures that I want, so I can see all the problems and rocky things before buying it myself.

Again that's what I am here for Sable. I want to give everyone who sees the video an informed look before they decide to spring to buy a figure that they may not want. The painting is....ugh...once I get to a point where my grey miniature army is painted to a decent point, I may decide to fix this one.

*sigh* yes, they did botch the head and quite a few other things that I have pointed out. I'd love to see your work on the artist proof version. I'm sure it will turn out awesome!

This isn't the first time that McFarlane released an unhelmeted space marine, but it is the first time that they've done that and also painted it: the artist proof version of the Reaver had just the lower portion of the skull mask, rather than the full helm.

I can’t stand how inconsistent the painting is on the McFarlane 40k series. The loyalist Astartes gave painted plasma pistols, but this new figure doesn’t!

In all honesty, JoyToy and McFarlane are really inconsistent with their quality control on their painting. I've review action figs that have minimal issues while others, like this one, is plagued with Nurgles rot lol. I wish these 2 action figure makers had the same quality control as Bandai

i Sensed so much Heresy upon this chaos's handicraft, even much more since i saw the painted job is kinda looks cheap? i dunno if its really looking like that or cos its in the video but brother, the last chaos space marine was sooo much better in my opinion, i think iam agreed that this heretic, this spawn of chaos evil need to be repainted by you brother!!!

Paint job is downright terrible...even worse than JT. I really wish that McF put more QC on their painting on this action fig. Apparently this Chaos fig will need to be fixed by me unfortunately at some point in time.

The best McF 40K figure is the Genestealer(although I dont like Tyranids).They are to small for the 1/12 scale but they fit to the 1/18.Will you make a review about them as well.(I can sent some shoots how they fit with my chaos terminators.

I did review the McF Genestealer and TL;DR, surprise, surprise, despite the paint quality, I really liked it!

Wow, the 2 skulls on the backpack of the artist proof version really make a large difference to me in terms of giving more of an evil, chaos type feel.

Yoooo! Thanks for dropping a comment. I totally agree with you with regards to the painting issues. As a miniature painter myself, it was VERY hard for me to ignore the fact that this action figure was really subpar. Regardless, thanks for your support!

McF has done better in the past. I think if this wasn't a "gold label" action figure we probably would not notice these issues but since they put it in a special line, then we fixate on it.
