Hey guys, were taking a look at another Warhammer figure from McFarlane Toys, This time the Chaos Space Marine Word Bearer!
Similar to the unpainted AP variant, we have the helmetless Chaos marine in the Steel grey and red paint colors of the Word Bearers.
First up, we can notice the extremely awkward look of the eyes of the figure, the small black dots that make up the eyes really limit the expression of the figure, giving him a blank stare.
The sculpting as usual from McFarlane is amazing, but the lack of paint brings really limits the potential of the figure. The weapons as well left unpainted, could have greatly benefited from just even a silver dry brushing.
As someone who collects the unpainted AP figures, but too scared to actually paint them, having the option to have the AP versions painted is a really nice option to have, but these figures would greatly benefit from some touch ups anyways.
While the base body uses the same parts of the Chaos Marine released already, this figure is still unique enough, and has some alternate parts as well, so they'll still stand out next to other Chaos marines.
Its a Gold Label McFarlane figure, meaning its exclusive to only one retailer, this version is sold only on Amazon in the US, so definitely check it out if your looking to expand your Chaos Marine collection!
