Today, I want to discuss the different oils we have at our disposal for making soap. There are different oils for making soap, and each brings a slightly different quality to the finished product.
This is pretty much the only online source i use for my base oils at this point: www.soaperschoice.com/
Lye Calculator that we use: www.soapcalc.net
Many times, the liquid oils are actually cheaper at your local box store like Sam's or Costco, etc..

I live in a Greek island and every year we have a lot of olive oil waste (thick olive at the bottom of the container ) and i start making soap for my family to reduce the plastic bottles of the shower gels .my recipe is the easiest that gets only olive oil lye and water and maybe levander or orange zest .my grandmother used olive oil soap for body/hair and washing clothes and dishes all her life and everything was spotless!!!!! Thank you for your lovely video!!!!

Oh my goodness I would love to have “Real Olive 🫒 Oil” because I’m not sure whether we actually are buying Real Olive Oil here in the states….and reading you’re text, to me Is astounding that there’s real Greek Olive Oil and 😮 I Absolutely Love ❤️ Real Olive Oil and it is so healthy… God is Good and worthy to be praised for the wonderful miracles in oils vegetable 🥦 Fruits 🍎 trees that have life and actually give us heath to save our lives… and so much more knowledge god has given man and woman to make and drink 🥤 many things out of the oxygennative 🌳 trees… all of us are blessed beyond measure to have just a little bit of the miracle properties that God has endowed to us….

I would love to have a lot of that wasted Olive Oil….. here we are poor to because of our goverment…. They stay rich and we the poor stay poor… born poor and die poor… but the lord Jesus did say that his saints(children) are a poor and needy people… But God’s Grace is Sufficient and will always be Sufficient….

My soaps are at least 60% tallow. Some people grossed out because it's not plant base. I used it because it's the part of animal that people throw away and I think it's such a waste of the animals' lives. It makes wonderful soaps. I do a little twist with fancy oil for marketing. Thanks for the video.

I made my first soap 2 month ago. I used the first soapbar days ago. I am so happy! I made it with olive - a. coconutoil. I added teatree oil and a bit of arganoil. A bit spirulina for the color. I do not need to change the oils, they make my skin so smooooth! This base is perfect and I will make more!

I made my first batch last week with oils I had on hand at home, olive, coconut, sweet almond and argon oils. It seems to be great and I hope it will improve with age. My second bar was made with olive, coconut and rendered bacon fat and it was awesome. I’ve now made 2, 1,000 and a 500g batch. I spent less that $10 making these and now I’m hooked on the process. Thanks for the information and inspiration. I dig your videos.

Thank you. I have been telling my guests this for years. However, because some other soap maker has told them that they absolutely need a soap made with 15 different fats; I get folks that just completely look down on what I do. I chalk it up to ignorance (not meaning that in a bad sense) and try to educate as much as they will allow me to. Anyway, I'm happy to see a common sense approach, as I was starting to think that I was the only one saying these things.

I like tallow soap for hairwashing and castile for skin. The castile soap I was using left too much residue in my hair which even a strong vinegar rinse wouldn't shift, but it's nice and gentle on my sensitive skin. The tallow soap cleans my hair very well and seems to rinse out much better, after a vinegar rinse it's perfect and leaves my hair just as if I'd used fancy shampoo and conditioner!

Essential oils are great. Make sure they're not already adulterated with a base oil, or synthetic, and they'll also provide anti-viral assistance. Also, antiseptic, antibacterial and antifungal. Lavender is a good all round choice for all of those qualities if required.

Oh my goodness gracious I have found a new soaper to watch and LEARN FROM. Oh my goodness so glad I found your page Keep posting these straight to the point , positive knowledgeable honest videos. I am a soaper/body care product maker 😂and I have been making these items fit years for my family it transitioned to business last year. EVERYTIME I watch one of your videos I learn so much and you say a lot of what I try to explain to people who may not know what cold Processed soaps are. Especially why some of my soaps are more expensive than others oh boy this business is a great one and there’s room for us all but it is difficult at times to get people to understand your price and in beginning I would try to change my price to fit what people needs are but that HURT MY BUSINESS because like u said some soaps have expensive butters that I also use in other products I make. Whew I know this is a lot but you are motivating e to make videos once I get past my fear of recording myself maybe I can too one day show what I make and just explain on a platform like KZfaq for my customers. Thank you sir you are awesome in my opinion 🤎
