If you think about it, it's kind funny how gw and ff online evolved. gw1: rpg with mmo features -> gw2: mostly an mmo with rpg features ffxi: mostly an mmo with rpg features -> ffxiv: a jrpg with mmo features Specially now that they are trying to make the starting quests more mainline offline FF player friendly :)

@@olfan92 pay to win... Really? Cant buy masteries mounts and achievements (3 main endgame goals), cant buy ascended gear, cant buy legendary gear.. how can a person think its p2w. Skins? Doesnt mean p2w. And of course u can buy exotic gear with the stats u want but how is that pay to win when the content can be cleared with a good skills build

I had to install guild wars 3 times for myself to get hooked, but when i understood the mechanics, boy was i hooked. Seriously a great fuckin game

im so glad mmos are having a comeback.. currently playing Lost Ark and BDO,, also will play new world again once it got fixed.. that game is so immersive to be wasted.

LOVE GW2 ever since GW1 as well but i just cant play it as my main game anymore. without a fun guild to play with and talk to it gets boring and even so its still boring at times pvp and wvw as gotten stale for me and its makeing me sad. i just want another game that makes me want to play every day and non stop thinking about it adn what i could be doing through out the day. miss those days

Question about Lost Ark, I read some steam reviews and many people have unwarranted VAC bans on their steam accounts, Amazon Game Studios isn't willing to help them either or rectify the problem. I read that even by simply playing the game you run the risk of a ban and that it should be avoided for these reasons. I dont want that on my steam account for no reason.

Final fantasy proved that subscription is the best model for mmos. The fact that with that sun everything is accessible in the game from cosmetics to mounts. Other games close of majority of its content behind a pay wall and call it. "f2p" I agree with it being an Rpg first before an mmo tho definitely on point with that statement

I really loved Star Wars Galaxies. First and only time I ran a guild and had lots of fun. The genre was new to me and I loved the sandbox nature of it. City of Heroes was great too. Age of Conan had so much potential, that was squandered. I did play Wow but have a strained relationship with it. None of the current or upcoming stuff appeals to me and I can't see myself spending so much time on a game anymore (I have a kid)...

City of Heroes is STILL great! Google Homecoming (utoob auto deletes all external link posts now, bleh). Devs are passionate & maintaining their private servers, NCSoft have left us alone for the past couple years, so I can strongly recommend. If they do try to shut them down, the entire thing is backed up & mirrored in other regions, so they'll be up & running in no time & NC can play whack-a-mole all they like! This is what should happen when studios can't maintain or fund a mmo - float it into the public domain & let the fans take care of it. Game not over! ;)

@@Nostromo2144 I have heard about the fan-made CoH servers, but I thought it was badly balanced, but perhaps it is time to revive my psi-defender again and give the fan servers a chance..?!

Star Wars Galaxies/Pre-CU Star Wars Galaxies was the best gaming experience ever existed. Winning 5 vs 1 in an open world pvp as a Jedi and feeling like a god. Or even more: Finding a way to win against a Jedi as a non jedi character was even more rewarding. I never forget my first PVP match as teras kasi artist with Bacta Tank injection against a Jedi. The fight took us 20 minutes and I was able to win at the end. A unique one of a kind MMO, which was far ahead of its time. My heart aches, when I think about that game and what they have done to it, after WoW was released.

@@Finsterwald_ Yeah! It was really unique. I played like for a month, day and night and hardly slept when it came out. I created a really large guild. I played a bounty hunter but spent a lot of time organizing people. We grouped up and hunted rebels a lot. I didn't level too much as I focused on the guild, but I did try a bunch of the content. An armourer in my guild gave me mandalorian armour of a high grade and that made my character quite powerful. I never really got to se much of the jedi unlock stuff. I wish I did. It was a great time to play an MMO. Not flawless by any means, but very, very atmospheric and fun.

MO2 isen't exactly worth playing atm. Monthly sub has come too soon and the game just requires so much whereas you don't get much from it

@@cal1390 love you man. But you clearly don’t know what you’re talking about :(. There’s no monthly sub. They even announced yesterday they have no plans on bringing it in yet until they’re happy with the state of the game. Minimum of 2-3 months before any sub exist maybe more

@@cal1390 I think that’s a bit of an opinion. It has a very loyal loving community. I’ve also seen many mmo reviews for less popular games. There are some features missing, but after server bug fixes it has come a long way and I’d amazing fun

I’m gonna give BDO a real shot. It have been in my Steam library for years. I’ve never got around to get the grasp on it. It’s such a hard thing to try to learn all the new systems and gameplay in an MMO that it’s really hard to switch or put it in your rotation. I know it’s absolutely worth it when I start to get into it

It is. LOTRO is also as good, if you don't mind the slower pace & setting. Mechanically they are very similar. Not sure about swtor's latest 'expansion'/update, ahem.

After not bein able to get into FF14 or Lost Ark online, I think it's time to accept that maybe I just liked MMOs when they were exciting and new, but now that they have been around for a while, I prefer other genres.

Finally, a mmo vid from Sky! :) So, to summarise: New World = poopie dookie Lost Ark = poopie dookie (imnsho) Therefore, Amazon mmos = poopie dookie. That is all. (having said that, GW2 is my daily goto mmo, although I've been trying to get into Lost Ark with the Mrs recently, and failing. Warframe has been my addiction since September though).

The start of your video I'm on that exact same page man, what happend 😭 See lost ark I just can't get into and unfortunately it's one I'll just appreciate from a a distance. See now Albion I actually like the look of it very much reminds me of RuneScape. I agree, it will always have loyal long term player base. Ff14 feels to single player for me but really appreciate the story and lore Gw2 I've actually just started this and realy enjoying. Nice video mate 👍

Stopped playing GW2 after about 4 months. Hated the combat system. Loved Guild Wars original combat system so Guild Wars 2 was a major disapointment. If it had been some other game, might have played it. But after the original Guild Wars, just no.

Swords of Legends online can be played tab-target or "action" mode. It's a very polished MMO, just turn off the English voice acting, it's awful.

I'm currently learning Black Desert Online. What I hate in it, is the billion kilos of information it spits on your face right when you start it, you have NO IDEA what all the stuff and concepts are. It seems a HUGE GRIND, most of the items seem to be about upgrading your items, you need alchemy to mix them with other items to upgrade items. Artificially adding lots of items just tof fill your too small inventory and waste your time. The NPCs and stories are really bad written, paper thin, nothing interesting. The game looks nice, as many East Asian games do. But inside game play sucks and there's nothing more but grinding and leveling. Maybe there is, but so far not. I'm trying to continue but every time some "loyalty reward!" or some other more crap pop-up hits the screen, I'm: "oh, no!" Also, I don't seem to have enough memory to remember all the key combinations to do combos. I hate the memory game where you need to remember keys to do combos. That's like the stupidest thing ever, not a fan. Maybe if I can force muself to play it a few more months I can learn some combos for one profession. I doubt it, but maybe.

Oh yeah, and the "not enough informaton" when you try to talk with people. And then the incomprehensible way guessing the persons he/she might know, to get you "more information"... that's just SUPER WEIRD and idiotic imho, who invents things like that?

Yeah, I had a lot of fun (as confused as I was most of the time lol!) until end game. Then it stopped being fun, as progression ground to a halt. I really liked the Lahn class for its mobility.

Because it can become a BAD BAD addiction not just from a cash shop standpoint but a health one. I think if memory serves right, 2 people died because of overplaying it? Like grinded 72 hours straight or something no sleep? You'll be grinding ALOT and it never changes. You grind so you can grind and grind and find more grind. It never ends and it is very bad for mental and physical health. I played it since KR beta up to 5 years and quit when I finally realized I shouldn't be playing something that'll most likely kill me one day if I'm not careful. After quiting I felt more free and actually found games where I could find purpose and have fun in. It's a me thing here but I feel others can relate quite a bit.

Albion has no European servers, why do youtubers always ignore that? its a hardcore full loot pvp game, imagine playing that and losing ur gear coz u have 280 ping.

Same reason we dont mention Lineage as a popular MMO. We only care about our region. MMO arent global games. We are still restricted by ping. Thats why I refuse to play games with servers located out of my region unless it isnt reflex based.

If u expected us to "assume" that the world revolves around the US then that's something else for sure ^^ Been watching you for many years, it would be sad to realize I'm at the wrong place for my region to be watching you, You'd be the first to be a "region-locked gaming youtuber" :D
