The problem with telling the salesman that you won't buy because of plumbing means that even if Grand Design gets the message, they will simply skimp somewhere else to make up the money they have to spend to do the plumbing right. The issue really isn't the plumbing, its the corporate philosophy.

GD has bigger problems than plumbing. I won’t even consider them when I purchase my fifth wheel. I do appreciate your videos and I have learned a lot. Thank you!

As a former warranty engineer for the big three, we actually spent significant time and resources reviewing post warranty repairs. iow, customer pay after expiration of the oem mfr warranty. There is just as much data if not more to help make design changes and improvements. Plus those are usually worse for the consumer because they have to pay for it. One unhappy person is ten that won’t purchase that brand of car/truck again.

I guess I found the diamond in the rough because we bought a 2021 Solitude brand new 3 years ago and have put 10k+ miles on it and have had zero, yes zero, problems. No leaks, flexing frame, peeling roof... nothing.

Frame issues are the real issue for GD.

Just purchased a’24 GD Solitude 376rd, aware of issues with frames and all other issues. If we have issues we will deal with them. I was aware of plumbing issues and was planning on replacing fittings and doing away with flex hoses. Was pleased to see that all per fittings were brass and there was no flex hose. All pex lines up to the supply lines to all faucets and fixtures. Don’t know if we just got a rarity or has GD changed their ways!

Our issue with a Grand Design was with the slid RIPPING the floor, when I talked to the Service Department about it. He told me to contact Grand Design as he had heard of issues. When I contacted GD I was told that was the first they heard of it a because it was out of Warranty it was my problem. That was our 1 and only GD product.

After owning my GD Reflection 28BH for two years it had 12 soft hose leaks in one trip. I had to replumb the entire fifth wheel with PEX just to make it reliable. Other than that royal pain it has been OK RV. I would skip GD and look at a Brinkley Model Z 3110 if I had to buy another one now.

Grand design was great before they were bought by Winnebago I believe

We have an early 2021 2600 rb. And purchased June 2020. We have not had any issues. Just minor stuff from traveling. (Trim coming loose, etc. Nothing that I couldn't repair myself. We absolutely love it!!

Hey Jacob, Love your channel and advice on RV’s. Why are you never talking about the Lippert frame problems on these 5th wheels? From my research, none of these rigs can be used extensively or safely!

I have a 2023 390rk. I replaced almost 20ft of flex plumbing. Leaked within 1 month. I am full time and stationary. Glad I could do the work myself.

Enjoy your reviews of the RV manufacturing products! In light of all the issues surrounding GD, shouldn’t you also consider grading frames and suspension quality? This is a warranted concern for all consumers these days! I am sure you have come across these issues in your own experiences as an RV repair technician. You do such a through review on other aspects of the RV that you might want to consider giving consumers insights into this topic. Hope you will give it some thought for the future.

I have a 2023 Momentum 376th and live full time . In just over a year of being in it I have repaired approximately a dozen leaks already . Lost count . The worse one happened during the coldest cold period we had this winter . The hot water check valve fitting failed if which is located on top of the furnace . The water ran down and took out the furnace circuit board . Wasn’t a good week. Just waiting until the weather warms up and will be replacing as much of the plumbing I can to something more reliable.

It be awesome if you made a video review regarding Grand Design Reflections. That brand/type has caught my attention the most, due to several factors, like, its insulation, 30,000 BTU Furnace, Heated Holding Tanks and Enclosed Low Point Drains, Heated Utility Center and Storage Bay, Dual Attic Vents, Enclosed Gate Valves, Thermostatically Controlled 12V Tank Heater. Now I'm spectacle if all these features are legit or just a marketing tactic. Plus it be nice to know about the plumbing etc. BTW, your videos are very educational. Thank you for sharing

Love your videos! Thank you. I want to know more about rooftop air conditioners. I have a GD 15BH. The air conditioner has a slide open or slide closed vent. But I cannot figure out the purpose of it for the life of me. It can open or close the air flow, but it is just as easy to simply turn the unit on or off to do that. My real question is how to reduce the noise? The air conditioner is SO LOUD that I refuse to use it unless I absolutely have to.

Lucky us with a 382WB, full-time for 3 years, washer and dryer used frequently and no plumbing issues - knock on wood. I would agree that that is the wrong pipe to use with PEX connectors. People have started "bandwagon" about Grand Design problems but we have not experienced that and ours was Covid-19 built

You never talk about the one major devastating problem with them. The under strength design sent to lippert frames for construction. One wrong dip in the road say coming on an off a bridge or the road has sunk down due to draim pipe failure. Hit it at 70 mph in a grand design with a f350 and pop goes your frame. Up front. Its a major problem. How about a video on that.

I have a 2021 crossroads 3880 Valente a cheaper model and I've only had one major problem where the electrical was not connected properly in the 50 amp outlet on the trailer after 15,000 miles maybe vibration

I am shopping for a unit to replace/downsize from my Class A, with all the complaints that I am hearing about GD customer service responses to people having frame failures in their 5th wheels, it's a company that is off my list for buying. Looking at Brinkly, Alliance or Artic Fox.

I wouldn’t touch a GD with a 10 foot pole. In fact, I wouldn’t touch most manufacturers with a 10 foot pole.

Genuine question from someone who has a 2023 Jayco 330RSTS. It is equipped with Coleman Mach 48000 series A/C units. Is it within a realm of possibility that when these start to give me trouble, can I replace with a more reliable/serviceable unit or am I stick having to buy another coleman unit or 2?🤔 Thank you for videos as well as all the helpful advice

Not a single mention of frame issues with Grand Design

The way Grand Design responds to quality failures is why I would never recommend any model from them. Grand Design's parent company Winnebago is failing to take ownership here too.

So, I'm not a Grand Design fan boy since Frame gate started. But I have two,,,, eye raisers,,, to share. We have been told by literally everyone for years that schwin tech slides are fine in their proper use case. The bed room slide is like 15 inches deep, and relatively tiny. It's a closet space ist it? If a schwin tech slide can't be used safely here, are you saying it basically shouldn't be used at all, because you know virtually every manufacturer uses this slide system to some degree rt? How could you not mention the potential issues with frame failures? Aaron time goes on, there is mounting evidence that these frames are to weakly constructed, using possible poor quality steal and fabbed by inexperienced welders right? This doesn't get a mention?

A brand new $147k POS. 21 deficiencies, leaking behind the shower oh cut a hole and ad an access panel. The fridge was wired wrong and took 3 techs to figure that out. The trailer wiring, joke, put the left turn signal on the running lights flashed on one side. Should have backed this through the showroom window or the service bay as it has spent more time in there than on the road enjoying. JUNK DO NOT BUY.

I don't have any faith that Grand Design will fix any of their quality issues. The question is when the most vocal Grand Design cheerleaders will stop waiving their pom poms and say enough with the bad quality.

Grand Design quality has gone down the drain and management doesn’t seem to care. Ex: the whole flex frame saga.

It took a lot longer for people to finally see through the Grand Design grand illusion than I figured it would. Same will happen with Brinkley in due time. Totally overrated and hyped up.
