I am currently taking your course and I have learned so much just in your prep and practice materials. I am so thrilled with the changes I am seeing in my work. My skills have gone to that next level with confidence! Everyone needs to take your class!

I love how hands on pastels are - no implements between you and the paper.

I am so enjoying these lessons, and they are exactly "where" I needed help. I fully understand the underpaintinh process, but I'm learning so much from your strokes and layering. I came from a Prismacolor past, and am expanding to include looser paintings with pastels. I really appreciate these free lessons, as I'm strapped for funds (the starving artist syndrome). Thanks, and yes, I'd love to know what brand of pastels you favor. I have a great many differing kinds, although I usually use softer over harder brands. Thanks much!!!

You talk about organizing your palette. Have you ever done a video on how to set up a studio palette? I see your series of pastel boxes are clearly set up in a certain way. Can you elaborate on that? Colors, values, light to warm, neutrals...how do you lay them out??

Where would one find a photo holder clip like the one he is using?

Beautiful 👌🏻 But I think it will be better if you can show to us the reference photo while you are painting.

I don’t understand your mark making. Blocky and vertical and the horizontal but not in any particular location. ??

I don't have "money" - to waste on such "expensive" soft pastels! I just buy the "cheapest" they have from Amazon! I think, that, if you have the will to "paint" or "draw" what your mind and your heart wishes for, you can even burn some wood from nature and use it as a chalk! It's not in the "variety" of colours that you own, where you can make a good art, it's in the aesthetics of it all! If your art do not bring aesthetics to it, you can forget about it! Collectors will find out about it! Just the same as in painting with "OILS"; I only use two brushes, and a small one for the "eyes"! Other than that, I don't have "piles" of brushes, waiting somewhere in the white spirit! I clean them all immediately, and like I said, I only have few of them ! 5 or something .... Same as Pastels, I only owned two boxes of Rembrandt, and have made few "iconic" artworks of them! Some planetary moods with the Oil Pastels, and some Charcoals ... each have their own meanings! And, God is my mentor!
