Simracing is difficult. Learning how to drive fast takes time, dedication and persistence. Assetto Corsa Competizione is one of the best simulations with highly sensitive aerodynamics that want to be respected. Telemetry, such as motec helps with analyzing car behavior and finding major issues in the car setup or driving style. Special sim racing hardware also helps with becoming better, but certainly is not the solution to your problems. Load cell pedals offer better feel. Stronger but most importantly more detailed force feedback of e.g. direct drive wheels offer more immersive sensations. Though I know and I've seen throughout the years, people with entry level hardware perform on top level.

Good job Nils. I find that selecting dynamic and variability 40 % always leads to extreme conditions ie flooded tracks. Im wishing we could have weather settings that are linked to real time local conditions. Another interesting point is that AI is a bit stupid , if you start a race in dry and it starts to rain they all go a get wets, I stay out , it drys they go back for dry tyres and Im 2 laps ahead. Humans are still better.... :-) I working on pre adjusted tyre sets for 24 hour races driven in 1 or 2 hours and for this im making tyre press / temp charts to be able to make pre planned and on the fly decisions for tyre changes and driver swops. It wont be perfect but better than running low pressures at night for example. Its an important subject....
@SimracingPopometer
@SimracingPopometer 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I plotted the temperature over the day/night cycle with a given ambient temp once too. gives you a rough idea where it will be heading - at least if it stays dry!

Hi Nils. Question: Is the hot tyre pressure the same for GT3 and GT4 or is there a difference? Good tutorial btw. Have my first wet race next tuesday and keep you advice in mind.
@SimracingPopometer
@SimracingPopometer 3 жыл бұрын
27 to 27.5 for gt4s. differs per car cause of hugely different weight. but just a bit before gt3, you can use the tire app to verify

@@SimracingPopometer Weren't GT4's between 26,5 to 27? or is it 27 to 27,5 the real sweetspot?

Hi Nils slightly off topic question. When setting up camber I've read that using tyre wear is more acurrate than using temps as there are many variables in the temps IMO. But with tyre wear you can see part of the tyre is being used? But when I set up using tyre temps the tyre wear shows the opposite tyre wear, as if my inside tyre temp is hottest with high camber then shouldn't my tyre wear be most worn on the inside? But tyre wear shows outside tyre wear the most?
@SimracingPopometer
@SimracingPopometer 3 жыл бұрын
sounds you have too little camber. if you set up camber using IMO you are looking for a 6-8°C spread from outside to inside, with inside being hotter. the temperature is measured a few mm deep into the the tire tread. this is not surface temp. it also is measured at the moment you hit "garage" - which means if you do that in a corner it will look different than on a straight (a bit at least). the inside is always on the road, even on the straights, it will naturally be warmer than the outside. it sounds like you would have gone for equal temps which would result in too little camber and wear the outside.
@twistedstrap
@twistedstrap 3 жыл бұрын
@@SimracingPopometer thanks for the response, yea the strange thing is I'm running 4.0 - 3.8 on the front with 8 degree temp difference from inside to outside so that seems correct but still showing more tyre wear on the outside! Maybe tyre pressure is a little low to cause more tyre flex but there are 27.5 psi when up to speed.
@SimracingPopometer
@SimracingPopometer 3 жыл бұрын
two possiblities: you have 0° caster in the setup :) or: you turn too much, but i dont see why outside would wear significantly more otherwise
@twistedstrap
@twistedstrap 3 жыл бұрын
@@SimracingPopometer yea I always run with extra castor from aggressive setup so again that's why it's puzzling me and I normally run around 2 seconds a lap slower from the quickest of people so my I feel my turning in corners is progressive to load up tyres first but maybe a glitch in my game I don't know. Thanks for the suggestions tho, as always I find your videos informative and helpful thanks for the information you put out for ACC.

Pressure ranges from 27.5 to 28.5. Within that it shows good pressure. Nice informational video.

It shows the same for me with any car or like .1 difference. 27.4 or like 28.6. Otherwise it's the same range for me with any car I have tried. So dunno hehe.
@SimracingPopometer

im quite sure theres something around the resolution of the screen you are using that affects the height of the pillars in the tyre app
@Menteroth
@Menteroth 3 жыл бұрын
Why do you say that? Everyone I've spoken with says it's about the same range for the whole GT3 class. There is nothing "wrong" with my monitors (same on them all of the different ones I've played on) or resolution. It's actually the same for GT4 as well last time tried a few different cars, but the pros suggest you use close to 26.5 because how you can turn in in a better way. Something along the lines of that. Don't remember the exact words.
@Menteroth
@Menteroth 3 жыл бұрын
27.5-28.5 is a pretty wide range anyway.

I take the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO in 2020 mode and at Paul Ricard my tires are between 27.7-28.0 PSI but the temperatures still aren’t green on the dashboard of the Lambo, it’s still blue with 65 degrees, It becomes green from 75 and above... I have the brake ducts set, if I lower it more then the brakes overheat too easily so that’s not an option... Is this blue color on the dashboard of lambo that 65 degrees normal or what temperatures do I need to stay in between... It’s also only affecting RIGHT FRONT and RIGHT REAR... Left front and left rear are green on dashboard of Lambo... Need help Edit: I’m talking about DRY CONDITIONS with OPTIMUM TRACK
@SimracingPopometer
@SimracingPopometer 3 жыл бұрын
you're driving in pretty cold conditions. You cannot get heat onto the surface when theres 15°C air cooling it all the time and the tire is barely used on the track. Theres nothing you can do tbh
@bmwM3M5M6
@bmwM3M5M6 3 жыл бұрын
@@SimracingPopometer Indeed it only happens in cold conditions like 10-15 degrees, for example with 25 degrees it’s always green. I was tripping thinking that there was something that I was missing in my setup or somewhere else. Now I know 100% that it’s normal. Same goes for wet tires, when taking heavy rain at night where there is much standing water and it’s cold temperatures my pressures are ok like 30 PSI but my tires are still cold and blue on dashboard like somewhere between 25-40 degrees or so. Thanks for the reply and I’m enjoying of your fast racing, also learned much from you 🏁🏁🏁
