There are more significant failed prophecies in the Bible: Rev 12-19. The first beast is the Roman Empire, the second beast 666/616, the fifth in an order of seven is emperor Nero. Then the predictions start to fail. Rev 12-19 is about earthquakes destroying Rome, the Roman Empire falling and being replaced by a worldwide Jewish kingdom.

You might want to do a thorough comparison of the NT and it's messiah to the Tanakh (OT) before looking for failed prophecies within it. Once you find the many contradictions between the two it might be a good idea to do the same with the writtings (the prophets, psalms etc) and the Torah (the books of Moses). Finally after that, look for the inconsistancies within the Torah itself. Keep in mind that "Christian" translators changed many words, phrases and even tense when writting the Bible in order to make the OT fit with their Christian doctrines. I suggest a Hebrew Tanakh (JPS, Koren or Stone's) along with a Strong's concordance cross referenced with a Brown Driver Briggs lexicon for accuracy, after all, James Strong was a Christian.

In my protestant denomination of Seventh-Day Adventism they claim that the prophecy statue in Daniel represents the legs of iron as Rome even though there are so many problems with that which I recall Dr. Joshua Bowen mentioned in his Daniel prophecy series. They are especially wrong with one claim they make in which the Roman Empire never fell. This is extremely important in their interpretation of the prophecy, but yet it is very problematic because the Roman Empire did fall in the year 1453 C.E. under the Ottoman Turks. The only reason they don't accept that is because the Eastern Roman Empire is commonly known as the Byzantine Empire, except that title was created in the 1500's, DECADES AFTER THE EMPIRE FELL! They instead believe that the Roman Empire was only divided and later transformed into the papacy, but that too is historically problematic.

I do believe that the legs of iron is Rome. However, it is overtaken by the feet of iron mingled with clay. This will lead to the ten toes, or ten kings of the last day. I'm not sure exactly who this is, but I lean towards the Germanic tribes that have become the most prosperous nations on earth. They overtook Europe, the America's, and the British Empire also overtook south Africa, India and Australia. The most powerful nation today is the United States. In which sits the United Nations. If you read the Club of Rome, they plan to divide the world into 10 regions.

I always look at these writings as poetry or poems. The metaphoric text of speaking in allegory.

From the moment you mentioned a "classical" land siege against Tyre I was eagerly waiting Alexander and his causeway to be mentioned. ...but on the other hand he was not the Great king yet, had not picked Babylon as his capitol AND most importantly, the city kept existing, long after he took it. So it must be a coincidence.

The prophecy hasn't been totally fulfilled yet. If you look at the context of Ezekiel, there are many chapters talking about the judgement of Jerusalem. The description is similar to that of the woman that rides the beast in Revelation. The ultimate fulfillment of these happens in the last days.
