In this video JetBoatPilot demonstrates the difference in cooling water stream intensity when at idle, at higher rpm and when flushing the cooling system on the hose. It is important to understand when your cooling system is operating properly. Never operate your boat if your engine cooling water lines are clogged or obstructed. Hi Will. We have a 23 AR220 with your thrusters and vectors. It seems like the steering at higher speeds is stiff or harder to turn. Is this typical of yamaha jet boats?

The stiffness you're feeling at higher speeds is normal and it happens whether you have our steering system installed or not. The reason the steering feels heavy at higher speeds is due to the flow of water coming out of the nozzle. As flow increases the jet stream acts more like a solid than a liquid and it takes more force to bend it then when the boat is moving at slower speeds. Also its important to note that when the Thrust Vectors are installed correctly the fins ride above the water that is beneath the boat when the boat is at plane speeds. With this understanding its clear to see that the Thrust Vector cannot add to heaviness in the steering at high speeds. The only time where the Thrust Vector can contribute to heavier steering feel is at transition speeds of 5mph to 10mm when the boat is preparing to get on plane but the fins have not yet risen above the water. On your year model it will be less noticeable due to the rack and pinion steering cable system on your boat. On earlier models without rack and pinion it is more pronounced.
