This actually seems kinda fitting. Megalovania captures the feel of an intense battle, but this one feels like Sans is trolling you with the difficulty of the fight.

I honestly think this theme should be used for a neutral sans fight, where the fights a lot easier than the genocide one, but it still pretty hard. I also think it should be impossible to kill sans in the neutral run because he’ll just dodge, but he won’t get tired either because he’s not using all of his magic (so in the neutral he won’t use his blue eye, or the gaster blasters) so basically you can either spare him right away because his name will be always yellow throughout the whole fight, or you could fight him for about 20 turns and then he’ll just get tired and leave, anyone else agree?!

I do agree that it's a good song, but it just doesn't fit. STMPWYFS has always sounded like a song for the pacifist/neutral routes. It's short, and isn't very intense like Megalovania is.

My theory of tis theme is either it was meant for Sans's Genocide battle but was replaced with Megalovania, or perhaps it was meant to be Sans's Pacifist battle, supposedly if Sans WAS meant to be faught in the Pacifist run.

I think Megalovania should play when you begin to battle Sans, and after you don't spare him, Song That Might Play When You Fight Sans should play afterwards. Megalovania sounds like Sans' being a furious badass that only want to kill Frisk. The other song sounds like many emotions in Sans' mind collide with each other due thinking of Papyrus while being physically and mentally tired of the fight against Frisk. Therefore, it should be close to the end of the fight.

I like this theme better, it feels more energetic. Considering he is the hardest boss out of all of them.

i feel like this song would play during a secret boss against sans in the pacifist route after you get sans key to his room if you keep reloading the game sans will fight you but if you somhow get to 1 hp (somehow because there is no glowing eye wall slam thingy, karma (meaning sans only does one damage) or gaster blasters) sans will stop using blue magic and make the bones go around you he will fight forever being able to be spared at any time he will always doge your attacks because he is using less energy and if you keep telling him puns the battle will eventually end

Pacifist/neutral sans fight would’ve been so good with this theme. And a cool idea would be that if you tried to kill him, he would just dodge and when he gets tired enough he just ends the fight so you don’t kill him.

I think there should have been a match between Sans in the no-kills route, before you meet Asgore. Instead of seeking revenge, he'd be testing your skills, as he still believes you can win. He'd fight in a similar manner as his Genocide route self, except it's slightly easier since he'd be trying not to go so hard on you. And this music plays. PERFECT.

Honestly, I'm starting to believe Megalovania may just be our theme. "The Song that might play when you fight Sans" is somewhat fitting, it has a part of Papyrus's theme to evoke a sense of "You feel your sins crawling on your back" but like the overall theme fits with Sans's personality. Perhaps Megalovania plays only in this battle and not during Asgore or Undyne because in this situation, Sans is actually "self aware"(?). Not sure, I'm just finding justification for Megalovania possibly being our theme. We are the enemy now. Genocide. And Sans knows the importance of this battle more than anyone else. He's the one trying to dodge our attacks. TL;DR Most likely, Megalovania is still Sans's theme.

I think this song was originally intended for a boss fight with him should you kill papyrus under any neutral conditions. It was probably scrapped because sans knows how to keep his cool and he's super nice so it took genocide to get him to fight you it's also more inpactful that way and acts as a perfect final battle.

Guys I realized something. The song "Undertale" is Ost 71. And "song that might play when you fight sans" is ost 72. Right after you hear OST 71 you meet sans in the judgment hall. On Pacifist or Neutral he judges you here but On Genocide this is where you fight him and Megalovania plays. I looked at the 2 OST placements and noticed that maybe you would fight sans in the judgment hall no matter what route you were on because Song that might play when you fight sans(72) plays right after you hear Undertale. (71) And maybe this song would play instead of Megalovania on Pacifist/Neutral.

I honestly prefer this theme more, because of what people have said. It entirely changes the tone of the fight. Megalovania was your theme, made for you, basically saying you're the danger, you're their demise. STMPWYFS Tells you that, not only does the LAST person who will fight you in the underground still have the courage to. But that they are also the same exact guy that sleeps on the job repeatedly. The same guy who cracked jokes consistently during your first encounter. The same guy who you thought wouldn't even have enough energy to punch you. Yet he does. He has more than enough energy to teach you your place. There is still something stronger than you. The SINGULAR least likely person in the underground, with next to no battle training, is tougher than you. Combined with the fact he SURPASSES your expectations by : Mocking you after each death Dodging attacks Using unseen blue soul techniques (as in slamming you everywhere with his hand) Poisoning you. Understanding the turn based battle system to the point of not even letting you have your turn. This song is just one big laugh at you for killing everyone and being overconfident.
