I know it’s a show about girls, but I always wanted to see more from Shuichi and the boys of the band. It feels like anime with school settings almost always focus solely on girl or boy students and act like the other doesn’t exist unless it’s for the purpose of romance or comedy. Rarely do you just get to see slice of life interactions between them, which is sad, but when it does happen it makes the world feel more lived in and immersive. I think this show is pretty meh with that

Nakatani Nio, the author of Bloom Into You, said it’s her favorite Yuri. While you don’t get a relationship between them (at least in the novels), I can assure you that S1 is my favorite coming out story. A lot of people won’t read it that way, but a lot of people still do. So, let yourself interpret what you see in the way it resonates with you
