Unimat SL DB 200 Overhaul Part 1: Tailstock

This is the First video in overhauling my Unimat SL DB 200 Lathe. This video is focused on the tailstock.
I disassemble, clean, and reassemble the original Unimat SL DB200 tailstock,
Bill started customizing and restoring #Matchbox, #Hot Wheels, #Tonka, and other #die-cast toy cars and trucks after reminiscing on his days as a kid playing, destroying, smashing, and just being a kid playing with these great toys. After seeing Marty Matchbox Makeovers, he decided he could do that too. He jumped in headfirst and started making videos and learning new and better ways along the way to bring these toys back to life.

@15:33 "Tommy Bars" is the Term used by our British Lathe friends, (OR NZ, Australian, take your pick, ~Mate~).

Yes on vintage screwdriver 🪛 I have dads old ones from coal mines. Both Phillips heads got newer one which is still old but not 70s early 80s old say late 90s early 2000s its switchable pull it out Phillips on one side flat other side same size as old ones to with magnet and pocket clip

I love the older tools as well. They are of better quality and tell a story.

A little Tight @13:26 Maybe a drop, or 3 of Lubricant upon that shaft as it is installed would assist in looseness in movement? All my Micro Lathes (THREE) were either assembled with plain Tree-in-One oil, (Two TAIGS, built from parts up) OR came Pre-Assembled with a light grease (my Proxxon 150 lathe). But hey, I like your style!

I got the same one, looking at updating the motor tho... it really whines down

I was thinking of using a commercial sewing machine motor. I have not had the time to get and try one.

@@BillsWorkbench yeah, I was just looking at a forum where someone did just that. an industrial sewing machine motor with controller. interesting stuff...
