FINALLY someone made an in depth honest review and UP CLOSE footage of the difference in shirts when it comes to the same print on both a light and dark color shirt. I own a screen printing business and we focus on bulk, but have been tossing around the idea of getting one of these for the small runs for my existing customers when they have certain events. I watched from beginning to end 51 minutes... damn that’s an achievement. I noticed many of your comments are 1 and 2 years old, well it’s 2023 and your review is raw and truthful. That sh#t is gold. What really sold me was when you realized that your first design on the light shirt was trash and you replaced it with the design with black in it. The second thing that sold me was when you rubbed your hand over the light shirt and then the black shirt and noted the difference in the sound and feel of the shirt. You gave me a real true understanding of what this printer can do. I’m a 62 year old screen printer and I think I might give this a try. Keep keeping it real.

this hit at the right time. I made a bunch of clothes for my own personal brand about a year ago. I did this cause the shop I was working at was failing and I was only getting 12 hours a week. so I would come in and print my own clothes in hopes to sell clothes and work part time to make ends meet. after a while I finished my catalog, then anxiety and nerves and the stress of putting myself out there and failing started weighing on me heavily. and I ended up putting it to the side. luckily I got picked up at another shop and started working a good 40 hours a week. but still always feeling bitter about not following through. Now a similar situation is happening with my wife and we have been talking about starting this clothing brand up again and following through. this came at the right time brother. One tip, if you’re doing color shirts and you have a multi color design think about what colors you can cut out like you do with the black for a black shirt. When I worked at a shop we would have a different screen of the same design for white, black, and color shirts.

Thanks for the video sir! This is my end game. Grinding on the screen printing game and waiting for my embroidery machine. The icolor 800 is the only thing that makes sense. They say there's less maintenance on the DTG Brother GTX, but $20G vs icolor 800 $9G and like you said multi heat presses. Your flow makes total sense working on a job. I plan to preemptively create A+B prints for some of my clients and just file them so they'll be ready for print. I screen press in a hot garage in Vegas, so I'm really looking forward to this icolor 800 and start printing in the AC. Keep doing work. Subscribed

So, I like everything except: apparently this method does not hold up well over lifespan of shirt. I am adding this method because it has it's place, but screen printing and dtg, sub are all parts of my soon to be business and I believe every method has it's place in the print-needs world. If you master them all, your capabilities are almost boundless imo. We can all learn anything we are determined enough to excel in. Great vid review - THX!

You can get a black cartridge for the 550. Maybe uninet has one available for yours.

What are you using to cover the design when you repress to remove the shine? Standard teflon sheet? Parchment? Also does the design leave any residue on the sheet you used to cover the design?

I feel like, the printing and ink is cheaper, but the sheets are expensive. DTG the maintenance is more tedious, but the ink can be also expensive and maintenance be time consuming. I still have not decided on either one, even though this one I am leaning towards because of the versatility of what it can do. Misprinting is a bit more limited with this one, versus the DTG, it seems to be a pretty good thing.

Great video sir. I normally don't like long videos but as you mentioned earlier the learning curve is ridiculously stupidly too long!!! Nonetheless I am very happy with the entire video you made while you wanted to go to sleep lol. Could you please do another video on how to set up the software including the color adjustments on the printer? I am having trouble with the white toner. Sometimes the printer put lots of white toner and sometimes it doesn't. Hhe last problem im having is the how much of the B sheet stucks to the white toner areas. It always seem to stick to all the colors except the white. Greatly appreciate all the help!

This is what I’d rather have. I have the icolor 550. And Oki 831TS. My white toner printer is only 8 1/2 x 11 which really sucks. Even the smart cut it’s really pain in the ass to make a bigger size image.

I probably would print one day, and then do the adhesive, just create a work flow and print on the next day... But I am not sure, whether I can store them once they have the adhesive on...

I also want to be able to put some intricate hand drawn designs on shirts but vinyl and the weeding that comes with makes that a no-go. How would you say this set up handles thinner lines and fully white prints? Thanks so much for your time and sharing your experience!

Is a 15"x15" Heat Press big enough? They all seem affordable until you go to 16x20 and up. Then it seems to be a steep climb in price.

this and John's channel is my go to, any other you guys will recommend? and I did start my own brand and designs, but just stuck on one thing, not sure how to make a website or do drop shipping and such...did you guys have any success starting your own brand?

Would you recommend getting started with a sublimation printer or a white toner printer? My budget is high so I can start with high quality printers. Im just going back and forth between sublimation or white toner printer.

So what does "papery" really mean? Was it the surface texture or was it the overall print has paper characteristic?

Can you iron it inside out? Would it yield the same results as ironing it with a pillow case or do you think the color will come off on the back of the shirt?

Have you ever used the Inkjet Image Transfer Papers (Neenah, Starcraft, or a Paropy)? If so is there a big difference in how they feel on the shirt between this White toner and the image transfer paper?
