When Beckham left i was so sad man...i was thinking: because of him i support united, and now he leaves, it can be possible. That one broke my heart and then i learned not to care about any other football players more than i care about my club.

Same with me brother Beckham was my hero. I was tested with Van Nistelrooy and Cristiano as well, hated Real for taking our best and my favorite players. But nothing came close to Beckham and same as you I learned to support my club not to follow the players. Although I wished them to do well and dreamed for years for Beckham return, then for Cristiano's. Was very happy when he finally returned, sad how it all went sour in the end

Makelele was the best defensive small guitar I’ve ever seen on a football pitch. Keane getting booked in Turin and having to miss the final was a heart breaker. My favourite midfield performance of all time. Poor recruitment has broken my heart more than players leaving.

I was gutted when Veron left, he struggled his first season at OT but the second season he was absolute quality! He seemed to really love playing for United as well and seemed very popular in the dressing room! Someone once said that if Steven Gerrard joined Manchester United in his prime our starting midfield would have been Giggs, Scholes, Keane and Beckham! A very true statement but unlike Gerrard (if he would have joined United) Veron did manage to break into the best midfield line up of all time and win a premiership winning medal!

Keane and Becks were bad ones for me… wasn’t all too fussed with Ron if I’m honest, but probably because it was in the works for a long time… was initially sad to see Tevez go until all that shit kicked off. Edit* Nev never rated himself all that highly… but has the respect of his peers and was always a hard worker had an excellent understanding of the game, the fact he was never attempted to be replaced or deputised again in that team speaks for itself!

I was a huge Beckham fan growing up. I still remember when Ronaldo joined, my father told me this new Portuguese kid is really good and he got the number 7. I remember responding with "no one can replace Beckham". Well, only Ronaldo could replace a talent like Beckham.

Ronaldo broke me as a 15 year old at the time, but it did it slowly. He was my idol and the transfer saga leading up him leaving made me feel numb to the reality of it. I remember my family home was getting renovated and I had no access to the internet so I would use the neighbours computer to go to the United website to check the news until it was announced. When he returned, me and my dad watched our first United match together since I had left home, where he scored 2 against Newcastle. It was a great moment. Obviously ended in sour circumstances, but the memories live on.

Beckham was great in 98/99 but it's Keane for me that season. Beckham went a long way in that league season without scoring. He got bags of assists but at attacking player only scoring 9 goals in a season is not going to bag a ballon d'Or. Mind you they both played a huge number of matches that season.

Brilliant episode Steve great points about the treble team. RJohnson and DYorke are two of the most underrated u sung hero's of the treble team. Johnson was a great player his career was plagued wirh injuries but he marked some of the best strikers of that era. Yorke had a RVP season, of course he was playing in a much much stronger team but he lead the line against at the time Italy's finest defencea.

I'm so angry that the other team players could not make it work when Ronnie was back, he didnt even need 1st, just 4th and stay in CL and he would have been happy enough, 2 seasons of 4th and he could have sailed off into the sunset from United a hero and legend, now we have to just remember his first 7 seasons and forget the dreadful nightmare that was the 8th

Lads honestly the John terry chat was biased as fuck , I understand the fella is hated and rightly so , he had absolutely no pace , but he could read the game up there with anyone , his heading was brilliant , he scored alot of goals from set pieces, he could ping balls from left sided center back with his left foot he's lifted the prem as captain 5 times, there's interviews with Rooney and even aguero asked who was the hardest defender to play against in the prem and they both said John terry , don't get me wrong guy is an absolute nob but you can't be shitting on him like wasn't top level, I'm a man utd fan and can admit the fella was a top defender and great captain.

Only Keane, Stam and Van Nistelrooy were upsetting. We lost leadership, defensive stability and 30 goals when they left. None of them wanted to go, and both Dutch greats were at the apex of their powers. SAF did Keane wrong, very wrong. Ronaldo was, and always admitted it, always Madrid bound. Beckham had become a distraction. Incey was on the decline. Welbeck? Meh....hardly scored at all.
