Mata didn’t care if we won or lost. He didn’t care if played or not, he was very happy to sit on the bench as long as he didn’t have to take a pay cut somewhere else. Money was more important than playing.

@@liveitwisely I think with Fellaini it's the case that he stayed too long, particularly with Mourinho I think he refused to agree that Fellainis stadandards fell (just because early on he said I will make you all love him) and that's why he played for United longer then he should of, without that time, I would agree it's a yellow, but to me personally I was ecstatic when he OGS came in and sold him so I couldn't give it anything other then a red.

@@inBODwetrust13 Different CBs have different strenghts and weaknesses. You can't expect that a CB has no weaknesses, because that CB doesn't exist. If you think that Rio had no weaknesses, you would be very wrong. And the same goes for the other great CBs that have played for United. Maguire has close to no strenghts, but lots of weaknesses. Lindelof has many strengths and some weaknesses. Varane has even more strengths and fewer weaknesses. A good CB partnership is when the two CBs compliment eachother, so they can cover for eachothers weaknesses. If you have followed football for many years and specially United for many years, you should have seen how important these partnerships are. It is close to impossible if not totally impossible to find a CB that can cover for all the weaknesses Maguire has, but way easier to find a CB that can cover for the weaknesses Lindelof and Varane have. It is also much easier to find a CDM/DM that can compliment Lindelof and Varane than Maguire. These are just simple footballing facts. Another fact is that Maguire is close to useless as a CB when you want to play a high line or any form of progressive, attack minded football. He is at his best when you play park the bus and/or counter attacking football. Typical Jose ball. He is a very limited CB. Lindelof and Varane can both play in many different systems with the right partner. Most likely you don't understand all this as you blame Lindelof for not having a partner that can cover for his weaknesses in Maguire.

I agree. I loved cavani. All the stick we got signing him but he put the head down every game and gave 110%. Second we signed Ronaldo his games were going to be even more minimal that If we signed any other striker. So I can’t blame him If he just stopped last year

You're right, Fellaini wasn't a bad player but in the end we just used him completely wrong. He had a good touch in the sense of being able to bring ball down and hold it up but when we tried using him a deep midfielder and he had try and play out after winning it, he was truly awful

Maguire was voted Leicester’s player of the year 17-18 by the club and also awarded the players player version. That’s why Leicester didn’t want to sell him and put a huge price in his head. He’s won something like 8 individual player of the year awards for his previous clubs, despite hysterical fans pretending everyone has thought he was useless and has fluked playing for Utd and England.

Fellaini was a far better player than McTominay, Fellaini actually bailed us out on a few occasions and won us games.

@@zelig1799 difference between Fellaini and them 3 is that he was a goal threat and could create something out of any hopeful lump up the pitch or cross. If you look on KZfaq at his best bits I'd hazard a guess there's 50 goals, assists or goals from chaos he caused.
