During this time when I did the video I had a resonator delete as well as a downpipe. The pops and crackles are due to the tune.

This setup was dp, resonator delete and oem muffler

Sorry for the late reply. I didn't do a stage 1 with unitronic. I did a JB4 with a map 6, then eventually grabbed unitronic stage 2 when it was on sale. I still used my JB4 to stack on top of my unitronic tune eventually ( added boost at higher rpms) and I really enjoyed the power with both. I ran consistent 11.8 sec quarter mile times with that setup

jahn jayatilaka how much more boost are you running with jb4 when stacking? I’m going IE stage 2 + jb4 and trying to see what works best. I’m thinking +1.5

@@CEOLISSS hard to say. I sent some logs to George and he gave me some setting. Mine settings for the Jb4 went up to 3 lbs more boost. But like I said email George at burger motorsports and see if he can guide you. Better to be safe

It depends where you buy it from. If you buy it from a shop and ask to install it usually they have their own cable so the tune you pay for is the the tune you will get. I personally think buy the cable as well is definitely the route to go. I'd you buy the cable with stage 2 tune you will have stage 2 and stage 1 tunes available to you.

@luis estrada when I purchased my stage 2 software I specifically asked for the overrun as well. When you flash the tune it should be there in the list of tunes to select from. You need to install the stage 2 file first, then the overrun file on top

Yes for the Golf R and the S3. Not too sure about the A3 or the GTI

I felt a lot more torque especially lower in the rev range. Overall it was faster and consistent compared to my JB4. Gas mileage did increase too if that's matters to you? It is a bonus in my books!

I had the exact setup as well, with the JB4, ended up using the uni stage 2 ECU and TCU, much better and feels faster

Definitely heard of them. Well known in the community as well. Generally I hear integrated engineering tunes are slightly more aggressive than unitronic. Which isn't a bad thing at all

I'm not currently. I'm now with eurodyne on a big turbo basemap. Will be getting a full custom tune when the rest of my fueling gets in. Another cool option to look at is Cobb if you have an S3! They just recently released support for the S3

Car has changed dramatically from this video. To give further info; this platform with the Ea888 engine sounds horrible, even with aftermarket exhaust (a resonator delete and and downpipe is hardly a "hackjob"). There are only a handful of exhausts that sound decent on this platform. Thehollow tin can sound I'm referring to is an unfortunate natural sound from the this specific engine with most exhaust systems. I'm currently running a DBV2 3.5" downpipe with XForce valved exhaust system since this video.

I'm stage 2 here. So stage 2 is flash tune with a downpipe. But yes I'm on stock exhaust here

Yes if you don't you won't get the full torque gains of the tune.. The dsg transmission will limit the torque

@@trentens991 It does. I used it for awhile without the DSG and it works. Just it doesn't drive as well, feels like the transmission is trying to find the right gear to select sometimes. Doesn't need to be done immediately but I would recommend looking to get it done when you can.

If you take a look at my other videos you'd see that I blew my engine.. But that's mainly due to user error with using too high of a mixture of ethanol. They are very stout motors, to be honest I'd say to stay reliable I'd go as far as stage 2. If you're looking at anything beyond it know what you're getting into. Lots of people have gone upgraded turbo with over 400whp with no issues, and some have had engines issues. But for the most part I'd say these motors are good for about 420-440whp without having to build the motor. Anything beyond that there's no real guarantees. Hope that helps

The file should be available for you under the tunes you have available to flash. If it's not there contact unitronic and they can probably activate on your account through their servers.

Champagne S3 will do i got the stage 2 just put it in like 30 min ago only options i had were stock, stage 1 , 1+ and stage 2

@@therealstunna3460 so you select the stage 2 ecu file to flash first.. And then the overrun file after. Make sure you do it in that order and you should be good to go. I show the steps in the vid as well if you need a visual

@@ryuken4065 reliability wise I had started encountering them when I started to modify heavily. The first week of owning my S3 the multimedia computer died on me.. Had to get that replaced under warranty as it was quite a rare thing. Just took long to arrive.

Why would I remove the mufflers? It'll be way too loud and have a ton of drone. If you are referring to replacing the tips, sure for cosmetics I agree. Stock axle back portion has electronic valves to control how loud the exhaust is. It's a feature I rather keep.

@@Ray-no9sj unfortunately nothing for stage 3 for the RS3 or S3. Just stage 2. They have software for injector upgrade and running E85 fueling which is the furthest they've gone on the platform so far.

@@ChampagneS3 a that's unfortunate. I live in Surrey and there isn't any gas stations near me that offer e85. I was thinking bout going Apr stage 3 but they don't allow me to change codes on my drive way. Is the unitronic e85 a flex fuel system? Can I put 93oct in if I have e85 tune?

I'm not too sure to be honest. I don't believe that it is.. You have to change the maps to run e85 I believe? But to be honest I haven't really looked into it. For their e85 tune for best results you should swap the injectors to make the most of the tune
