Sweetwater sent me all the new UA amp/cab sim pedals to check out, the Ruby and Woodrow are fine, I don't really connect with those style of of amps in general. BUT OMG THE DREAM 65 IS EVERYTHING IVE EVER WANTED IN A FENDER STYLE AMP PEDAL! These were all loaners but I'm 100% getting one for myself and likely selling off most of my other amp/cab pedals.

These pedals sound great, especially the Dream 65 and Woodrow. Great for recording and maybe live as well (you can never tell that until you try it). I expect these pedals to be a big hit. I can tell this is an honest from the heart appraisal, the wide eyes and the salivation! :)

Just picked up one of these because of this review! It takes OD's and distortions like a champ. Even running a Revv G3 into it sounds pretty good. Also running a Line 6 DL4 post pedal sounds great.

Brilliant demo. Trust UA to truly capture the tonal essence of these amplifiers. When they announced they were moving into pedals, I was skeptical. Not any more. I own the Starlight, Astra and Golden pedals after being blown away when I demoed them. I predicted that they would bring out some amp sim pedals soon, but I wasn't expecting them to be released this quickly and I certainly wasn't expecting them to sound so gorgeous. Wow. The only problem is I have to save up $1200 for these three delightful musketeers!

Great job on the Dream 65. Amazing model of the most recorded amp in history. You need to play with the Ruby some more. The AC30 was a unique and brilliant design. Folks need not be afraid to crank the treble and/or bass controls to the extremes then adjust the cut control to compensate. Every control on those amps is important to the voicing. You'd be surprised how pristine and how much usable overdrive one can get from an AC30. Hank Marvin with the Shadows got amazing tones from the AC30. Brain May, the Beatles, and even Slash recorded with this classic amplifier.

Guys guys guys I'm so excited, I'm gonna leave this comment under every Dream65 review I can find. No idea why they don't advertise this more clearly, but you CAN indeed use headphones with it. I bought a little 8$ adapter cable (Y-cable, two quarter inch inputs to one mini output), and it drives my Sennheisers (HD25) fine. No idea if there are cans this won't work with, but it worked great for me.

I am pretty happy with my Walrus ACS1, but I always just have them on the Fender setting and don't utilize the different cabs/amp types on the separate outputs. Having this guy where it focuses on being the best fender amp in the box thing seems like a better fit. Having an Apollo X4 interface, I've been really impressed with everything UA I've touched from the interface to UAD plug-in stuff. Wasn't sure how you might compare the two? I also really appreciate how you showed it before drives. I felt my amp sim was about gassed out, but that is now apparently been completely fucked and it's all your fault. Great vid and will have to try this out soon.

I have a RI Fender Twin Reverb and a late 70s Fender Dual Showman Reverb head. This is the first stomp box that actually comes pretty close to the sound of these amps. And it doesn’t weigh 65 pounds or more. I think it’d be a lot easier to get up and down my basement stairs.

I got the Dream and the Ruby. I love the AC-30 and really think the Ruby will be great, but like you...the Dream was so wonderful I haven't gotten past it. I play in a band that covers 60's thru 90's and the Dream blows away my Helix (even though I love my Helix). As soon as I plugged up the Dream at rehearsal the keyboard player jumped around his keys and said that my sound was wonderful!! It is really nice to have an emulation pedal that does one thing great and has pots similar to a real amp.

They sound phenomenal. Woodrow would be amazing for stoner rock/ metal. I see why you love the Dream and I'd choose it as my fav too. The price is in a category where I'd just buy HX stomp (I already have it) or any other multi-effect processor. Mind I'm from Latvia where price comes before quality. I don't know if that emulation is analog or digital. With analog emulation, the price could be justified.

Thank you so much for this video. I actually wanted the Woodrow because I play '60s style soul and wanted something that got me closer to that Steve Cropper/Stax tone. Granted, he used a Harvard, not a Deluxe. But every video I watched on it was guys with strats, or some kind of humbucker pickup equipped guitar, cranking the Woodrow up and complaining about how hard it is to get a sound out of it, and saying how limited it is and none of the videos showed me what I wanted and so I gave up and decided I'd watch a few Dream 65 videos and most likely I'd get that. The first I watched was from Sweetwater, and he played enough clean stuff that I was starting to think "yeah...maybe". Yours was the second one I played and 5 minutes in you sold me. I was down. I mean, I kept watching but after five minutes I opened another tab and dropped that in a cart to buy online. I kept watching more out of curiosity but I was already sold. But then you switched to the Tele (which is what I use mostly) and at 44:02, you did a quick cut in your edit and suddenly you started playing something that sounded like the intro to Sam & Dave's "Soul Man" and for about 15 seconds you played me exactly what I wanted to hear in all those other Woodrow videos. Of course then you went like all the others and kept trying to play with the dirt. But that's cool. That's you. But you did change my mind and now the Dream 65 is something I'll look into buying later. The Woodrow's in the cart and for that I thank you again.

I sincerely feel your pain that the pedals were just loaners from Sweetwater. Hope you were able to get one of your own 65's at least. Classic comment after the trem test--"uh yeah--Demo's Over!" I've never owned a Deluxe but have played through a couple of them over the years and loved them. Lately have been feeling I really should get one. Or is it NEED one? @@60CycleHumcast Glad to hear that-yes! It was really nice to see how much you enjoyed playing through it, the last time I checked isn't guitar playing supposed to be a pleasure as well as out and out fun? The sustain seems to be quite nice as well-for days! That's really important in my book. Lately I've been checking out the Kemper videos heavily because I'm unhappy with my IK MM Amplitude 5,. All of the different reverbs are a bit underwhelming, often no real sustain and I spend ridiculous amounts of time tweaking tones. Would rather just play you know? I'd pretty much made up my mind that the Kemper would be my next major purchase. Then I heard the Dream 65. Still on the fence a bit but leaning more towards the Universal Audio. For those who tried the Dream 65: having tried with pedals, I think it only sounds good when the volume is 9h or below. Above 9h, you start to get a Fender amp distortion, which sounds nice by it's own, but I think it "modifies" the sound of the other pedal too much (I've tried Origin Revival drive compact, Jackson Audio Golden Boy and a RAt clone). Do you guys experienced something like that?

It sounds very good there, although he wasn't using ANY Fender guitars, which is weird demo-ing an amp thats emulating a Vox!. You'd never know how good the Ruby is from this demo here. I’m interested in how that ALT setting works I’ve been watching so many videos on these trying to figure whether the amp settings stay the same as you placed them before switching to ALT placing the Tremolo effect on top of the amp sound, or if switching to ALT just turns the amp off giving you access to tremolo? I'm looking hard at these UA pedals. I thought I was sold on the Ruby, but now I'm leaning toward the Dream. I'm surprised how clean the Dream gets for taking pedals. The reverb is great because it removes a pedal from my board. If Ruby had reverb, it may be a no-brainer. But if the Dream can get a bright, clean tone then it may be the one for me. Difference in spending $600 for 2 pedals vs $400 for one that does the work of 2.

D-Tex stands for Cesar Diaz, who modded SRV's amps.

Sounds awesome! Not to complain or anything but if it had a headphone out, it would be the most magic practice device!

FYI, Universal Audio recommends plugging both male ends of this cable into the two stereo outputs, then low impedance headphones into the female port of the cable. I’ve done this with my Woodrow ‘55 and it works great. www.amazon.com/dp/B07WSNGLG7?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_JNNC5KKT4A3B6ARFA0G7

Can you plug the Dream into a Fender Blues jr that is set to a flat eq, no overdrive and no reverb and sound good?

This stuff really makes me reconsider my rig. I have a Deluxe Reverb and AC30 that I can't put above 3 or my neighbors flip their shit, so I'm mostly playing into a Boss Waza tube amp expander, often just with headphones. It's so much stuff. And like $3000 if I sold it.... When this sounds as good as it does, it's beyond difficult for me to justify all that stuff when I only record, no gigs.

Absolutely. I haven't played a gig in years, and only record at home. Why not go direct when it sounds good? Who cares if it isn't an "authentic" amp. Who knows other than you?

I have Traynor and my Princeton into some doodads attenuator or even re-amp setup just to enjoy them without neighbours going bonkers. This is a killer tool. I'll pump it into the PC, or perhaps some Class-D headphone amp. Ordered.

I'm also looking at a tube amp in the corner that would cover the asking price for a Dream and a Marshall flavour if they released it...

The HX Stomp offers this and so much more, just to toss another wrench in. That little box replaced an entire rig.

They sound great! Why UA didn’t add a HEADPHONE OUTPUT is beyond me, though.

Maybe they come up with a break-out box of sorts for these (i.e. a small line mixer with switchable 76 compressor, „vintage mode“ (Neve sim) and DI, thru and HP Out), it will be $399 hahaha @UA you heard it here first, guys!

no need if you record with interface what have headphone output. For live gig i use real fender amps and left my dream pedal at home sleeping.

I believe these are more meant to be direct amp replacements. They’re kinda meant to be used like you would a tube amp
Это реально работает?!
