Cause for a lot of folks understanding some minorities had a bad time. the 70s (before me) , 80s and 90s were just better times. Internet is convenient but has ruined the family unit as well as just how folks interact overall. Ironic I’m stating this on the internet I know. I just assume the internet was the turning point it’s all I can think of. It may have been mobile phones. Both I was a teenager when they became prevalent. Weird how sometimes convenience produce negative effects. I’d hate to grow up in the time our kids are.

I was born at Milwaukee Memorial and lived in Port Washington the first 6 years of my life, then to Cedar Rapids Iowa, then to Dallas Texas, and then to So Ca where I've been for over 40 years. My parents met in College at Oshkosh and my mom was from Beloit and my dad from Waukesha, and all of my relatives still live their. WI is a great state with the nicest ppl! Back when the Sopranos was big around 2007 or so on utube I saw a clip/video called Sopranos PW style, and it was a funny pun on the Sopranos and the PW was Port Washington, and I watched it, and the green house my family lived in from late 1971 through the summer of 1974 was in it which blew me away, and I confirmed the address with the guy that posted the video. Was just a trip seeing your early childhood home on youtube!

I remember lying in bed with my wife, at the time... now ex, watching Johnny's last show. We both were in tears knowing we wouldn't ever see him on his show again. He was such an integral part of our late night as we went to sleep, when it was done we had to search for another late night show. And even though some, even most, shows were good, there just wasn't anyone like him. Many hosts watched and learned a lot from Johnny and even if they were a better host or had a better show, none of them were " The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson".

We moved out of Iowa to PNW when I was 14 but my freshman football coach played at Nebraska and was tough but a nice fellow I remember and had an 'N' hat. I honestly forgot Carson was from there nobody really mentions it, as you might expect.

I saw it too so I assume it was a Fri show. Most popular night. Easier to be up late. Later years he stopped doing Fri. NBC played reruns or might have had a guest host. He also invited great people to guest host. Top notch!

I'm from Emmaus and was there in '72 at the age of 13. We moved to MT in '75. Most of my kin folk are in Bucks county, Allentown and Bethlehem.

this was before my time. and I fell into this. i love Don Rickles and enjoyed watching Carson for the first time.. can't imagine how funny these two were going off the cuff. had to have been an amazing show. im gonna find these two guys together

Although in 2018 I was able to go to spring training in Arizona, and I had a pretty long conversation with Bob Uecker which was interesting. But anyways, yeah Bob usually likes to avoid interactions for the most part. When I was at spring training some fan came up to him and asked him to sing his baseball for his moms birthday, and Bob politely declined. And then the fan got mad, but Bob had to get up to the booth. I don’t think he always does this, but I also don’t think he is required to always interact with fans. If you think about it he is an older guy now and just wants to do his job and then go back home. But that’s just my guess.
