Unlocking Epic Slow Pitch Jigging in Louisiana: Your Must-Watch Guide Before You Go!
Description: Join us on an unforgettable offshore fishing journey off the coast of Louisiana! In this thrilling video, we faced an unexpected challenge as our determination to reel in some incredible catches was put to the test.
Breaking Boundaries: Our adventure took us a daring 120 miles offshore, seeking the finest fishing spots these waters have to offer. However, fate had other plans as our 300 Suzuki motor suffered an oil filter failure 60miles offshore. But, as true fishing enthusiasts, we never gave up!
Rising Above Adversity: With teamwork and determination, we tackled the issue head-on, fixing the oil filter problem and ensuring we were back in action for the next day's fishing. The resilience of anglers knows no bounds, and this setback only fueled our passion!
Unbelievable Catches: When we finally got back out on the water, the wait was well worth it. Our lines were cast with Johnny Jigs Slow Pitch Jigs from JohnnyJigs.com, and the results were astounding. We hauled in scamp grouper and red snapper that will undoubtedly make for unforgettable tales around the fishing community.

I fish offshore in the northeast of the coast of ocean city, it’s a relief to have a garmin in reach to be able to text your family and call the coast guard if need be, we repowered a few years ago but before then we had our fair share of tow ins on our Grady

Happy to see ya'll made it back to Louisiana! We experienced a 7 hr tow from the platform Mars due to fuel issues once. Makes for a long disappointing trip but that comes with offshore fishing. Loved the video! Going to be slow pitch jigging Saturday for red snapper and Ajs.

I keep spare oil filter, thermostat, starter motor, fuel filter,tools...some oil...etc in boat. Also have cat sometimes salt spray will corrode filters. Used Suzuki starters are pretty cheap. I have dual Suzukis, but orefer to have em both running!

thank you guys, really appreciate all the tips and the jigs u make. All the info from you and benny ortiz has really been effective here in california. New regulations only allow deeper fishing later this season, which in past years was illegal to fish so really excited to take spj to deep cali waters.

That first fish is a yellowmouth grouper not a scamp. prob the coolest bottom fish you can catch on jig

What is the max size leader you guys use while SPJ when fishing shallower water like this video, for gags and other big grouper?
@JohnnyJigsTV
@JohnnyJigsTV 10 ай бұрын
The max leader we use in shallow water is 50#. In shallow water, we will scale down to 30 if the bite is slow or the fish seam leader shy.

You can hear the hull slap on that aluminum hull @10:00 . It's loud! I have no idea why people insist building saltwater aluminum hull boats for saltwater.

@@jerrymenard5654 Dude, it's freaking loud and annoying and you know it. In shallower water, it does spook the fish. Corrosion and electrolysis issues as well. give it a few years and you'll start to cuss at it. Good luck with it. I'll never own another aluminum boat and learned my lessons decades ago.. Fiberglass is where it's at, brah.

It’s a 35’ cat loaded down, I am underpowered with twins much less one. We tried to get on plane with starboard motor and it started running high temp bogged down. I am over propped and under powered as is. It’s just too much boat for twins much less one alone. Quads coming soon

So help me understand: you have one good motor that you could limp in at slow speed without presumably overheating but instead you end up having another boat do basically the same thing. Am I missing something here?
@brianlb78
@brianlb78 10 ай бұрын
They wanted you to leave the boat because they knew it was a long tow back and didn't want to be out that long. They don't care about your boat. Good thing you said no and if they left you and something happened to you they'd have some issues on their hands. Good they towed you that what tax dollars are for the gov to provide for the citizens
