Two of the 4 gospels were written for sinners (Mark & Luke) and two for Christians. Matthew is a manual of discipleship, the best book of the New Testament to take a new convert through. “You disciple someone by teaching them how to live in the Kingdom of Heaven on earth.” The expectations of Jew and Christian regarding the Messiah and the Kingdom differ. We are living in the overlap of the “present evil age” and the establishment of the Kingdom on earth. David says that all 5 sermons of Jesus recorded in Matthew are important, and are all about how to be subjects of the kingdom. The Kingdom needs not only the good Sovereign but also good subjects. The 5 sermons: No.1 The Sermon on the Mount - the lifestyle of the Kingdom. No.2 The Mission of the Kingdom: we have a mission to bring others into the kingdom by demonstrating and then declaring the Kingdom. No.3 What to Expect: Don’t be disappointed that not every seed sown yields a harvest. No.4 The Community of the Kingdom: Church discipline is included. No.5 The Future of the Kingdom: 4 clear signs of Jesus’ second coming given. God is both King and Father. Faith, Righteousness and Judgment are themes of Matthew. We must never forget what Jesus has done for us.
David also has a book on this series find out more here: www.davidpawson.co.uk/search/...

*Matthew came first - and this simply makes sense.* I tend to agree with Dr. Taylor Marshall on Matthew being the first written Gospel: For the first 1,500 years of Christianity, the Church unanimously held that the Gospels were historically written in the order we find them in the canon: Matthew first, Mark second, Luke third, and John last of all. The reason for Matthew’s priority is simple: the testimony of the ancient witnesses describe Matthew’s Gospel as first and as written in Hebrew/Aramaic. Here is Saint Augustine on the issue: “Now, those four evangelists whose names have gained the most remarkable circulation over the whole world, and whose number has been fixed as four, …are believed to have written in the order which follows: first Matthew, then Mark, thirdly Luke, lastly John.” Yet there is another reason why Matthew would have written the first Gospel of Christ - he owned paper and ink! Think about it. The other Apostles were fishermen. Matthew was a tax collector which meant that he was a record keeper and an accountant. In a time when writing, parchment, and ink were rare commodities, it is fitting that the one Apostle with access to such things would be the first to WRITE the life of Christ. “Of these four, it is true, only Matthew is reckoned to have written in the Hebrew language; the others in Greek. And however they may appear to have kept each of them a certain order of narration proper to himself, this certainly is not to be taken as if each individual writer chose to write in ignorance of what his predecessor had done.” That recent belief that Matthew is not the first Gospel arose because people first began to doubt the resurrection of Christ and His divinity. As such, the Christian message would have to have been falsified. It was assumed that the shortest and plainest Gospel would have been the earliest. Thus, liberal scholars crowded around the Gospel of Mark as the “earliest” since it does not contain much of Christ’s teaching and it’s resurrection account is the simplest. Then, they postulated that an unknown source of sayings (the so-called “Q”) was used to “fill in” the teachings of Christ. This is entirely ad hoc and has no historical basis. Moreover, Q scholars debate and divide over the issues. The historic testimony is against this Markan theory. The saints and Fathers teach that *Matthew came first - and this simply makes sense.*

@DavidPawsonMinistry
@DavidPawsonMinistry 2 жыл бұрын
Sadly in Davids latter years ie after he left Church Ministry many of his recordings were more topical, addressing a topic he had been asked to speak on at an event . Many/most of the more in-depth bible studies date back to 1960/70's when he took his congregation through systematic studies of the Scriptures He did record on video - Book of James 2016? - Romans 2014? ....and even a fairly recent audio recording of Jude covered under the title of ''How to study a book of the Bible'' Weeks before he parted he also completed his Commentary on Colossians but the recording is not good enough quality to release, David was very weak physically at that stage but was determined to finish what he started many years ago Throughout Davids life he was very consistent on his teaching with the exception of two important topics. He grew up in the Methodist Church which was strong on Calvins teaching but through many years of studying the Bible, David did change his position on two important topics which cost him his job and his home in leaving the Methodist Church. These topics are - Once Saved Always Saved ? can a Christian can lose their salvation ? - Baptism: where David once said to me ''Its not what we do in going through the waters of baptism - its what God does for us in being baptised '' These teachings were captured in more recent videos

If they (Jews) expect Jesus to come at the feast of tabernacles, will the anti-christ reveal himself or step on the world stage at or near the feast of tabernacles? Perhaps on a "Sunday" year in their week of years as per Daniel 9:27 so Anti-christ revealed Tabernacles *2022* or 2029 or 2036 or 2043. NOTE not talking about the return of Christ but rather the most likely date for the anit-christ to be revealed because of when he is expected.

Is the speaker saying Christians who have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior can still go to hell (around 34:20)? Isn’t it true once saved will be for eternity (Roman’s 3:38)?
@DavidPawsonMinistry
@DavidPawsonMinistry 3 ай бұрын
Hi This is a simple question but requires a longer answer - yes David teaches that the Bible is quite clear - some who were once professed Christians will fall from grace - which is not a popular teaching today - but something I believe is Biblical Truth Let me give you a few verses plus two of Davids teachings to watch - happy to answer more questions ‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭20‬-‭21‬ ‭NIV‬‬ “If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them.” Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, a more accurate translation is "you have been saved through "remaining faithful".......... continue to remain faithful Yes one severed saved for eternity but Matthew 10:22. And 24:13 "You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved". .....future and conditional on remaining firm That takes nothing away from Romans 3:38 Hebrews 10:26 If we deliberately go on sinning after ... For if we sin willingly after we are to receive the knowledge of the truth, no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, Once Saved Always Saved ? kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nq1drcR7vdyZdGQ.html Believers in Hell kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bs2YZa-JrbvMeXU.html

Henry V No, it’s not biblical but certainly a generalization. Abide in Christ the vine and you will bear much fruit. Typically new converts are abiding diligently early on and therefore have that overflow of living water in scattering seed and watering it to others. But later they can grow lukewarm, dull of hearing, or even wander from the truth. This happened to me. I put my light under a basket; and when you do that only 2 things can happen, either your light will go out, or the basket will catch fire and a greater blaze will burn. The Lord revived my faith and I became bold in proclaiming the gospel over 15yrs after conversion. So it really doesn’t matter when you were converted as to how good you evangelize, it matters how diligently you’re abiding. Apart from Him we can do nothing. He gives the increase.

My personal Translation. 1 Now when JESUS was born in Bethlehem of Judæa in the days of King Herod the great, behold! Wizards from the Orient arrived in Jerusalem, 2 saying: Where is the King of the Jews who has been born? For we observed his Star in the East, and are come to kneel down before him. 3 And in hearing these things, Herod the King was shocked, and the whole of Jerusalem with him. 4 And congregating all Archpriests & Scribes of the public, he demanded from them where CHRIST should be born. 5 And so they said unto him: In Bethlehem of Judæa; for thus it is written in the Prophecy: 6 Even thou O Bethlehem, in the Kingdom of Judah, art in no wise the weakest amongst the Clans of Judah; for out of thee shall come forth the Monarch, who shall govern Israel, my people. 7 Then Herod, had the Wizards summoned in secrecy, and he ascertained from them the date of the Star's phenomenon. 8 And sending them into Bethlehem, he said: Go thither & investigate the exact whereabouts of the infant; and when ye have found him, send me an errand, so that I may come & pay homage to him as well. 9 And so, having listened to the King, they journeyed onwards; and lo! The Star, which they had seen in the East, it was moving in front of them so that it approached, and stood above the dwelling where the infant was. 10 And after observing the Star, they cheered merrily very loud. 11 And when they were entered into the adobe, they beheld the infant with Mary his mother, and bowing down low, they adored him. And uncovering their hidden treasures, they bestowed unto him gifts; pure gold, bitterest myrrh, and white incense. 12 And whilst sleeping, the Wizards received a dream warning them that they should not reply to Herod; so they left, returning to their homeland along a different route. 13 And after their departure, behold! An Angel of our Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying: Awakening, take the infant, and his mother, and runaway into Ægypt, and live there until I bring thee word! For the future holds that Herod will seek the infant to assassinate him. 14 Then rising up in the night, he took the infant & his mother, and fled for Ægypt; 15 and they remained there unto the time of Herod's death; this event fulfilled what was spoken through the Prophet from the LORD, saying: I have called my Son out of Ægypt. 16 Then Herod, perceiving that the Wizards had misled him, went manically irate, and he commanded to have every infant boy living in Bethlehem, and in all the neighboring settlements, massacred, from two years of age & under; according to the date, which he had forsought from the Wizards. 17 These things fulfilled what was spoken through the Prophet Jeremiah, saying: 18 In the highlands a voice is heard crying out lamentations, and great mourning; Rachel bewails her sons, and is unwilling to be soothed, for they are nought. 19 Nevertheless as Herod died, behold! An Angel of our Lord appeareth in Ægypt to Joseph whiles he dreamt, 20 saying: Waking up, take the boy, and his mother, and travel into the country of Israel! Indeed death has come to those who warranted the child's life. 21 So when Joseph awoke, he brought the boy & his mother, and entered into the region of Israel. 22 However, after hearing that Archelaus ruled as Duke of Judæa, succeeding Herod his father, he feared to go further; notwithstanding, being admonished in a dream, he turned aside into the estates of Galilee. 23 So having arrived, he resided in the village named Nazareth; in fulfillment of what was said by the Prophets: That he shall be dubbed, Of Nazareth.

I’m convinced that nothing can separate us from God’s love in Christ Jesus our Lord: not death or life, not angels or rulers, not present things or future things, not powers 39 or height or depth, or any other thing that is created. But there is no "myself". What happens if one keep sinning and does not repent ? If someone once saved through baptism but turns away from god by himself, not by external force, then probably this versus could not apply.

To believe that is preaching for eternal security Roy is to make idolatry of proof texts. You have taken one verse from a COMPLEX epistle, that even Peter says are complex. [2Pe 3:14-16 NKJV] 14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; 15 and consider [that] the longsuffering of our Lord [is] salvation--as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, 16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable [people] twist to their own destruction, as [they do] also the rest of the Scriptures. The _BIBLE_ is *MORE THAN ONE VERSE* . And the same goes for twisting passages out of John to defend this doctrine of demons. You need to seek repentance of your verse idolatry. The _CONTEXT_ of Romans 8:38, is someone that has put the deeds of their flesh to death; [Rom 8:12-14 NKJV] 12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors--not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. If you _sin_ and *DO NOT* repent, you are not secure in Him. You are still an enemy of God, sowing death. [Rom 8:6-8 NKJV] 6 For to be carnally minded [is] death, but to be spiritually minded [is] life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind [is] enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. If you are still serving _ANY_ sins of your carnal nature, you are an *ENEMY* of God, and Romans 8:38 *DOES NOT APPLY TO YOU* - This is why Paul _WARNS_ the reader of His epistle this just three chapters later; [Rom 11:18-22 NKJV] 18 do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, [remember that] you do not support the root, but the root [supports] you. 19 You will say then, "Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in." 20 Well [said]. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either. 22 Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in [His] goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. You _MUST_ repent of your verse idolatry, as you are in danger of doing exactly what the Jews did believing they were once saved always saved, by being born Jews.

Do you mean 'saved' when one has recited the sinner prayer and then he is registered in a church organization? It is a cheap gospel ommiting sanctification with Holy Spirit baptism..

Salvation, according to the greek words used, if I remember correctly, involves a continual repetitive nature of both staying to true to repentance and seeking relationship with Jesus. You can't "backslide" and still be saved and choose not to come back and still be saved. There is plenty of scriptural support for this. Note, this has nothing to do with arguing "works" nor does it parallel works, it is purely a spiritual matter of the heart and mind. Deuteronomy 6:4. Yeshua said this was the greatest commandment.

Concerning "hell": the teaching of eternal torment is a false, antichristian teaching, based on translation errors and pagan doctrine; that teaching was spread under the roman catholic church. Jesus is the Saviour of all mankind. God declares the end from the beginning, Jesus is the lamb that was slain from the foundation of the world(Revelation 13:8). Everything is part of God's plan. It is God who chooses, faith is a gift from Him and not of your own making, lest anyone should boast. No one can come to the Son, except by being drawn to Him by the Father(John 6:44). Satan is just a tool who can only do what God allows him to do(read the beginning of the book of Job). He made all things, and all things He will reconcile to Himself(Colossians 1:19-20, 1.Corinthians 15:21-28). There will be judgment, no one will get less punishment than what he/she deserves. But not more either. God is just, He hates false measure. His judgment, ultimately, is corrective in nature. God tells you to love your enemies. He will not torment His own forever. He loves them, and indeed, God is love(1.John 4:8). What is written about love in the scriptures? Love covers all sins(Prov 10:12), love never ends, endures all things, is long-suffering, kind, hopes all things, believes all things and bears all things(1.Cor 13). Whoever reads this, please check out the websites "hell-is-a-myth.webs.com", "mercifultruth.com" and "tentmaker.org" as well as the youtube channel "The Total Victory of Christ". God wants all to be saved(1.Tim 2:4). His will be done.

You can because no person has their final Salvation. It's future tense as David points out in other teachings, and as Jesus tells the Churches they _CAN_ receive *IF* they repent from their sins. [Rev 2:5-7 NKJV] 5 "Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place--unless you repent. 6 "But this you have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. 7 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God." ' The _reward_ of eternal life comes at the *END* of our life Roy - you don't have eternal life yet, accepting Christ as a living Human is freedom from the bondage of sin. It is that _freedom_ as in you NO LONGER SIN; [1Jo 3:4-10 NKJV] 4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. 5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. 6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. 7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. 10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor [is] he who does not love his brother. If you are still serving sin, you need to repent, just as Jesus warned ALL seven Churches, and preached as is the Gospel. A Gospel without repentance and holiness is a false Gospel. A gospel that tells you that God has _CHANGED_ and will no longer punish the *SONS* of disobedience is also preaching a false gospel. Jesus is the same God that let Lot's wife _DIE_ as a pillar of salt, *AFTER* delivering Her from the destruction of Sodom and Gohmorra. Jesus is the same God that wanted to destroy _ALL_ of the Jews for the transgression against His law, when they sacrificed the golden calf! As Peter _WARNS_ : [2Pe 2:2-9 NKJV] 2 And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber. 4 For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast [them] down to hell and delivered [them] into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; 5 and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, [one of] eight [people], a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; 6 and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned [them] to destruction, making [them] an example to those who afterward would live ungodly; 7 and delivered righteous Lot, [who was] oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked 8 (for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented [his] righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing [their] lawless deeds)-- 9 [then] the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment, Those living _UNGODLY_ lives after coming to Christ will *NOT BE SPARED*. [2Pe 2:20-22 NKJV] 20 For if, *AFTER* they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. 21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known [it], to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. 22 But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: "A dog returns to his own vomit," and, "a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire."

Roy Boy although I would dearly love that to be true, I have to say I disagree with you. We get saved, We keep on being saved and finally we are saved. If the faith that we received on our conversion doesn’t grow, or rather if we claim to have been reborn, but a year or so later all but walk away from that initial conversion experience, then our faith was false to begin with.

I would encourage you in the most sincere but stressful manner to delete these heresies wherever you've posted them as they are capable of misleading many. This is a 100pct false doctrine and easily refuted with scripture.
