As news of UAP (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena) encounters begin to enter mainstream media, we are being encouraged as a collective to not look the other way any longer. On this first episode of the Merged Podcast, we explore the impact of UAP Sightings on the scientific community, and how we can study this technology to innovate our current systems on Earth.
Garry Nolan discusses the path forward for studying and legitimizing UAP research, and why he sees this as a possible "commercial gold mine". He shares his perception of the impact this will have on society and the danger of continuing to keep this information secret from the public.

Dear Ryan, a few weeks ago i sat with my mother who was elderly and we listened to your interview on the Lex Fridman podcast. She has never displayed an interest in anything sci fi before but we both listened intently to you. The next day she passed away in her sleep. I want to thank you for a very prescious evening and for your talk. I can't remember the last time my mother and i had spent such a lovely evening together. We bonded more that night than any other time i can recall. Thank you Sir. I wish you and your family only the good things in life. I'm English and live in England but i would also like to thank you for your service. If more people were like you in this world, it would be a much better place to live. Thank you.

They are seriously discussing things for which there is no good data or evidence. Not going to make any progress this way. They will talk forever and never learn anything new. @Merged Podcast Buddy on minute 36:44 he claims not having time to go and pick up in Fresno the material. Is it a big deal, if you "Ryan" "can do it for him" and report by video, on the full story, how you meet the person in Fresno. And bring it to Gary, and even perhaps record how Gary puts it into the special microscope in Standford?

Are you aware that until last year the only role mainstream scientists played publicly when it came to the topic of UFO/Aliens was to ridicule or discredit anyone making any attempt to get to the truth or said they witnessed it? Science, scientists and especially colleges and universities should not get a clean slate, instant access and exclusivity by whitewashing their past in this topic as if they have not always been a negative influence.

Production of them usually goes smoothly for a small family with one pet . More trouble for larger extended family's .. . I believe in the many hats theory .. . Doomsday can't last all day . Peace human . I don't really whear them anymore but the cat does . For today's issues A reusable stainless salad bowl would be the way to go.

As a UFO enthusiast from Brazil who has read the original reports about the Ubatuba samples, I was very excited to know that the original results - that there were truly unusual characteristics in those samples - were replicated in modern equipment under the supervision of excellent scientists. It just goes to show how much time we may have lost, we could have been doing research based on those samples for the last 60+ years!

@tomking7080
@tomking7080 Жыл бұрын
I’ve posted my experience before but I figured this is a good place to repost it. I’m glad that the stigma is going away and people are able to share their experiences without being ridiculed. I witnessed the Phoenix Lights in 1997 and I will never forget that night. My brother and I were up on the mountain across the street from our house because it was the night of the Halle-Bopp comet and we wanted to get the best view possible. If you are familiar with Phoenix,we were on 24th street and Shea Blvd. My brother was facing NW and I was facing SE because we didn’t know what part of the sky the comet was going to be visible in. My brother says “WTF is that “and when I turned around I seen this V shaped formation of lights coming towards us. ,It moved very slowly maybe 20-30 mph. It’s difficult to judge speed and distance at night but as it got closer I seen the biggest thing I’ve ever seen in my life,to this day. It was a gunmetal grey/black color and it had 3 lights on each bottom side of its “wings” and a larger amber colored one at the tip. It was completely silent until the left “wing “ was directly above us and then we heard but mostly felt a buzzing/humming sound like that off a power line transformer. We felt it in our whole body as if it was applying some sort of force onto us. It’s difficult to explain because I have nothing to compare it to. It was about a football field above our heads and when we were looking at it we noticed that it had some sort of distortion around it like when you pump gas into your car and the fumes distort the air around the nozzle. But we could still make out the craft pretty well. It was such a ominous feeling because the size of this craft was unbelievable. I can’t stress enough how massive this craft was. People that seen it from the streets said that it was a mile across from wingtip to wingtip and I would easily agree. The streets here in Phoenix are setup on a N to S and W to E grid,like Las Vegas is. Every major intersection is one mile. Just for reference the tallest building on earth is the Burj Khalifa in Dubai at 2,722 feet. A mile is 5,270 feet. I’ve been on a aircraft carrier before and I lived in Virginia Beach and would drive by the Norfolk Navy base a few times a week and would see 2-4 carriers docked in their spots. You could of put 3-3.5 carriers on each side of this craft. It was insanely massive. It glided through the sky heading SE and when it went over Squaw Peak mountain we lost site of it. I will never forget what I seen that night. I can still close my eyes and picture that craft to this day and that happened 25 years ago. I was 19 years old then, I wasn’t a 10-12 year old kid with some massive imagination . I only told my parents and my best friend because I knew that they would believe me. Plus it was on the news a day later. My brother to this day doesn’t want to talk about it. I think that it really freaked him out. He never told anyone. I don’t know what it was or who made it but when it was directly above us something told me that it wasn’t from here. I just don’t believe that we have anything like that especially in 1997. Thousands of people witnessed this craft that night. I still look up into the night sky every night hoping to see something like that again.

It's very telling how when Garry gets involved in the conversation, he continually refers to every event's objects as "craft", specifically. I've seen other interviews where he's reluctant to even say that other civilizations could visit at all. He kind of changes his tune depending on how comfortable he feels with the interviewer. It's very clear that he wants to maintain as much scientific integrity as he can, while his own personal beliefs (or rather, hunches) go way beyond what he's ready to talk about. Which is a good thing, we need more open minded people who dare to speculate. If scientists didnt speculate, we still wouldnt know if Black Holes existed. That was all speculation and hypothesis until we got the first true image of one.

Its mind blowing to finally have this topic taken seriously by such great minds like Garry. This is deathly serious science and he has the proof. We need to know whats going on. It shouldn't be kept secret when such a gift for all humankind is in our hands. Time to lift the lid and have the government admit that they've been lying to us for 70 years.

By far the most intelligent and best discussion on UAPs so far. Nolan is the sanest and logical voice I've heard on this topic and if you can read between tge lines here, you will come away with far more than you bargained. I believe that this is the guy who will lay down the foundation stone for revelations to come.Also, he is the world's smartest gay guy !

His point about the UFO's being a distraction to pilots during flight is a pretty good point, it's not even that the UFO's want to be a threat, it's just a potential human factor when you consider how amazing it would be to see one while you're responsible for a plane full of people.

Hi Mr Graves. I've been following this topic for 25 years, since a professor of mine at University put me onto it. I've also been following you. I'm very glad you're doing this podcast. I hope it further encourages pilots, scientists and other witnesses to feel less of a stigma in engaging with the matter and describing their experiences. I still feel there is an element of doublespeak involved here. "Officially", the government is opening up about the topic. But evidence tends to indicate there is longstanding, deep knowledge about it within the government, which remains withheld, even actively shielded, and nothing has shifted about that. It may be inaccurate to use the word "government" there; whoever is in on this knowledge may operate outside of the Constitution, such that in fact they are not really part of what the visible, as-defined-in-Dictionary "government". If that is the case, it likely presents an even bigger problem than confronting the existence of intelligent "Others". We are always our own worst enemy, it seems!

It is so important that you both are involved in opening up the subject of UAPs in a scientific and serious manner, because IT IS a serious matter for humanity. Many people ( like me ) who have been seeing these flying objects in both daylight and at night, can come out feeling more comfortable to tell about what they witnessed. Thank you Ryan for having this podcast.

Ryan is awesome. Really like his vibe. I feel like Gary looks a bit like a tortured soul. I could be way off but I strongly felt like Gary knows far more than he’s allowed to let on. I feel for the guy. Imagine knowing something of this magnitude for a 100% certainty and not being allowed to talk about it. I hope this movement grows to the point where no forces can continue to suppress the truth!

Wonderfully informative! Pilots may have had flying objects within their visual range, but the cognizance of them didn't attach the phenomenon to any previous anomaly. Hence, the cerebral cortex never made a connection to anything previously seen. I witnesses a UFO when I was about 12 or 13. It flew slowly about 80 feet or so over my house, made a very low pitched humming sound, then went out of sight between the branches of the trees. Since then, I've always scanned the skies. I'm now 75 and have had 11 sightings of UFO's that were not just little dots in the sky. I even video taped one and made some very interesting histograms of the video frames. I was also within 30 to 40 feet of a UFO hovering silently above a building I owned in Gardena, California. As the awareness of UFO's grows, more and more people will see and also photograph them with the advent of cell phones.

Problem is, we can't study them. We can only talk speculatively about possibilities. Doesn't matter how much so called "evidence" we have, we don't actually have anything concrete to study. The spreadsheet could cover 20 monitors... it would still just be a spreadsheet.
