So Kristina just posted a bento box video and she uses rolled oats and olives! Nobody tell her those aren't fully raw. And that you can't close the boxes if you over fill them like she does. And that the sliced bananas and avocado are gonna turn brown and gross lol

My favourite way to cook it is by frying some onions, once they’re browned chuck the cut-up kale in there, add some water and put the lid on. i gotta be super honest. i was like raw kristina, and honestly thank goodness i'm not longer a strictly raw vegan. for only a year, i was absolutely obsessed with my "health" and thought that my body was full of mucus and acid that i had to get rid of through dry fasting, water fasting, lemon juice fasting, grape juice fasting, and only eating primarily raw fruit. i was super into dr robert morse (nice man, but man i was really mislead), and bought a ton of herbs thinking that by consuming this, i will "clear up the mucus in my body, move my lymphatic system, clear up the sulfur in me". i know it sounds crazy but when you get in it, you just get suuuuuper deep in it. that being said, i also thought that the only way to stay thin was by only eating raw food...however it is NOT satisfying at ALL. i would eat TONS of salad and fruit at the end of the night and at the end of my raw vegan state, i was binging a ton on "raw chocolate" and coconut cream. the problem with me was i just really warped my thoughts around food. food was no longer just food. it was good or bad. i convinced myself eating steamed broccoli was detrimental to my health. or mixing fruit and veggies was highly acidic for my body and therefore bad. it was nuts. i was nuts. lol. i'm happy to say i'm just a normal person now but man...watching people like kristina or even ellen at one point makes me sad because i know what they're going through. food should just be food. the moment we start compartmentalizing it is when we develop this unhealthy relationship with food which could lead to other things. wow sorry for the long spiel.

@clairesmithe
@clairesmithe 5 жыл бұрын
@@DoctorMommy24 ofcourse it does. most people eat chicken and normal means conforming to a standard; usual, typical, or expected. plant based is abnormal whether you follow the `nutrition facts` diet or the fully raw one. atleast the fully raw one could be considered normal in comparison with other species of animal where as the `nutrition facts` diet conforms with the carnist diet replacing the steak with a `vegan steak`. it is vegan aswell whereas the `nutrition facts` diet contains synthetic chemicals and herbicides etc. that do not conform to the definiton of veganism as wholesome foods. if we want to encourage normality then eating chicken is the obvious outcome and we have to discourage atypical diets like `nutrition facts` as being eating disorders indicative of mental illness. there must be an imbalance in your brain chemistry talking about micrwaved broccoli and cooking tomatoes with tofu burgers and taking vitamin d supplements etc. its orthorexia obsessing over `nutrition facts` counting calories and checking labels for animal products. fully raw is just the thin edge of the wedge they want you to stick to your `nutrition facts` diet and go carnist. they obviously realise the raw foodies are not going to take much notice but you lot will be worried about the stigma of being associated with crazy raw foodists and gulp down your lab meat and roast it on hot coals and then you definitely wont be vegan by any stretch of the imagination. like really do you even believe this bs about " TONS of salad and fruit at the end of the night and i was binging a ton on "raw chocolate" and coconut cream." really like a tonne of coconut cream and still starving hey. sounds really bad it must mean cooking the chocolate and coconut would really help to make it fill you up more. all those people who survived on coconuts must have been pullying the hair out trying to make a fire to cook their coconuts. maybe its even true but that would only suggest the cooking really does cause some serious issues.

Of your binge eating a bunch of fruit, then your going to gain weight due to all of the sugar. It depends on what your eating. Thats also how they make some of these diets seem appealing "eat however much you want and never gain weight"

Binge eating isn't just physically unhealthy, it's mentally unhealthy. Eating tons of food and feeling like you have no control is not a good thing even if you don't gain weight. I think a raw diet actually promotes those behaviors instead of fixing them. This creates an unhealthy relationship with food.

I don't think you should be commenting on how many calories Kristina eats, especially when you're saying that almost 2,200 calories is on the high end for a woman, and particularly when you admit to not fully knowing her height, weight, and activity level. According to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2015-2020, a woman needs to consume between 2,000 to 2,400 calories a day, depending on their activity level. I live in Australia, and when I put my information into the government run Eat for Health 'Daily energy requirements calculator', my result is 2,550 calories to maintain a weight of 75kg (165lbs). I'm 25-years-old, 5'7" (170cm) and live a sedentary lifestyle, but I go for an approx. 6.6km walk almost every day. I know that a lot of these figures are averaged out or estimated, but they're dangerous, because I think a lot of people take them on face value without realising that they need to take numerous factors into account to understand how much energy their particular body needs.

The thing about sodium is what a lot of people seem to get wrong, and is a very big reason why it perplexed me to see freelee and durianrider claim that you get enough salt from fruits and veggies. I also cycle. I have gone on 1-2 hour rides in the hot sun, sometimes more, and when I didn't increase sodium intake, it would do a number on me. In fact, one time I went on a ride without increasing my sodium intake enough, and I had become physically ill from it. I was in the hospital with what I thought was food poisoning, turns out my blood pressure was in the toilet. This is why it bugs me that people like freelee were telling people no, don't eat salt, salt's bad for you! Yeah, excess salt is bad for you, that's not good advice for highly active people who work out in the hot sun. SOdium is a problem when you are sedentary and live off of highly processed meals and fast food.

The Choline issue is not well nailed down. When setting the RDA, it was determined 550mg/day was sufficient but 50 mg/day was not sufficient so they set the RDA at 550. What about 200mg/day? It may well be enough but we don't know for sure. Keep an eye on your liver function. Choline deficiency will show up there pretty fast. In general, I don't necessarily take the official RDA's to be the end all be all of what we really need.

Only the Omega 3s that are found in whole foods like FISH are beneficial. If you have issues with eating fish - you're better off eating clams or oysters. ** I did A LOT of research as I have seizures and really needed to make sure I was consuming the right things. I can't post the studies here (my links aren't posting) but I can tell you that in study after study - when they compared Fish to the supplements - the supplements were found to have little to no impact.
