Iris exceeded expectations here and while Ash won the battle, she won our hearts. I will say, Ash earned this win fair and square and both Ash and Iris put their hearts into this. Iris was more focused on bettering fellow Dragon Pokemon and Ash's Dragonite was the target of her love as she aims to be a Dragon Master more than being a regional Champion. She lost but they both gained here. Also, Draco Meteor is the strongest Dragon move Dragonite can learn and it's a barrage of meteors hitting and deals Super Effective damage. I think it's logical for Haxorus to be KO'd.

@@grydon6422 Ash's Dragonite is known to be INSANELY tough. Look back to the Korrina battle as an example but this battle was that but on steroids! I'll admit that's some insanity there that Dragonite was able to tank all of that.

I'm very pleased that Iris's Axew have finally evolved into Haxorus off screen at last although it's a shame🤔 we never got to see her Gible evolved all the way up to Garchamp in this episode or reveal to Ash that she caught a Gible of her own on her journey. But as for Iris I'm very surprise that she replace Alder and became the next Unova Region Champion, I didn't know this whole time she had return to conpete in the Unova League like Ash did.

Ash has never mentioned his titles and Dragonite used Dragon Dance so Draco Meteor was powered up.

So Iris somehow won the league, beat the elite 4, beat Alder, maybe beat N, and somehow didn't aged a year and lose to Ash.

I still want to see Dawn and Serena return, but this episode was great! Pokemon Journeys is on the right track because it was going pretty rough lately.

Yes I know this got old but I just wanna say they certainly went past a long way to this, both became official champions, would have preferred Ash to reveal his champion status but this is still so cool to witness.

Iris most definitely wouldn't have won this if she hadn't helped Dragonite, the idea that she let them win is terrible because that would be an insult more than anything else. Yes, she helped Dragonite, but after she did she was still very much trying to knock her out and Ash turned it against her. Even if she hadn't inspired Dragonite, I'm pretty sure Ash could've done that himself, just not as effectively. What, you really think Dragonite wouldn't have gave it her all for Ash anyway? And that Ash wouldn't have found a way to turn the battle around anyway? This is Ash we're talking about, he came up with the whole Draco Meteor strategy by himself, no input from Iris. He won fair and square. I mean, Jesus he literally created Draco Meteor by combining three strategies together, using the hole they made in the ceiling earlier in the match and using Haxorus's own move against him.

I definitely do like that journeys is bringing back some characters from past series’. I hope that we’ll see some great ones like Paul, Serena, Clemont, anyone really. I hope that when they come back, they’ll be written well and that their return has a reason
