a lot of the references were in the script actually! but the costume designer had to piece together the looks how the characters would. they did such a perfect job 🖤

I feel like Lexi is bob ross because she's an observer for most of the show, she watches everyone else live these crazy lives while she's mostly calm and boring

I like to think it is cuz she’s also a creative. Like Bob Ross, she studied her environment and made art out of it in the form of her play. She’s also (for the most part) pure intentioned. She never really does anything to anyone with maliciousness (this can be argued with her humiliating her sister. But that’s a different story). She is a quite observer who uses her observations to give a creative perspective for people to view. I also saw somewhere that her costume could stem from her not wanting to be sexualised, and I do think that’s a massive motivator too

Lexy's costume was super symbolic of her desire to avoid being sexualized due to her observing what that did to others. I'm surprised there wasn't a mention about that, but aside from that this video was phenomenal

In her play she expresses her disappointment in not getting big breasts like her sister, and she even laments that Cassie gets all the attention. To me, Lexi does the same thing her sister does, she complains about the amount of attention she's getting but dresses in a way that's only going to make it worse.

I love that Cassie's costume reflects her hidden depths. She's the only one who really understands "True Romance", and that it was a Tarantino film, or the screenplay was, at least. She's not just a pretty face, and has brains as well.

It makes some sense that Daniel is dressed as Ted Bundy. Bundy was known for being "handsome," "charming," and attracted the attention of many women (even during his public trial). Underneath the charming exterior, he hated women and as pointed out, murdered over 30 women. Whether or not Daniel is considered attractive by many women, he charms Cassie enough to draw her in and then viciously attack her (and exposing the misogyny underneath). The same can be somewhat said for his past relationship and hook-up with Kat. Aside from that, I think Cassie and Rue's costumes are my favorites. I was even inspired to be Marlene Dietrich for Halloween last year.

I really love watching videos that go into analysis in their costumes and colors. The plot itself never interested me that much, seeing how they'r mostly sexualized, but seeing the effort that was creatively put in to tell the viewers about each character and what might await them is super cool

She's Bob Ross right? I think that could signal her artistic nature (hence writing a play in season 2) but also her calm and reserved personality. Bob Ross also finds meaning through everything he draws and each painting is a slight alteration of the last so maybe that shows the meaning she's trying to find through herself and the frames of her life she's putting together to make one complete story. To me, Lexi's analysis of her own life and her own story emulates Bob Ross's analysis of life itself into the paintings he created (one frame at a time). From a general standpoint, Lexi has always felt seperated from the group and her deciding to be Bob Ross is very different to the costumes everyone else chose.

Ahhhh another incredibly constructed and stunning video... I think Euphoria sn1 was and is such a pillar in film and media... It's sad that the original costume designer won't be apart of season 3, but honestly I get it...I loveeeed your analysis on all the characters but especially Jules, Cassie Rue, Kat and Maddie...I feel like a majority of ppl love to hate on these characters without fully releasing how important these characters are in television ... Especially with Jules and Cassie... Yes alot of the things they do are f terrible, but we fail to acknowledge the realism and hurt in their situations... They simply act according to how they know how..and I wish ppl would have a little bit of empathy and love for these characters...who do outline very real people with similar situations....I love how you helped me understand the choice of clothes and accessories on each character...and the overall symbolism ..you never fail to WOW me...💥❤

i’ve never seen true romance, now cassie’s costume makes so much more sense and daniel mentioning the sex scene makes me so much more sad (but it does make sense for his character, he’s a dog) that’s all he ever really thought about when he saw her :( she’s so much more than that and it shows in the costume she chose, she wants to be seen as more than her past.

What about Lexi? To me, she's kind of like her sister. Because Cassie complains that gets too much of the wrong attention, but then dresses in a way that going to get her as much of the wrong attention as possible. Then Lexi complains no one is interested in her romantically then dresses as like a man is really considered sexy.

I havent finished the video yet but didnt jules and rue go as romeo and juliet to depict the tragedy of their love? This was shown even more when they jumped in the pool copyinng thr movie scene Edit: ik the video said jules was juliet and im more meaning i think rues costume was romeo not what the video said (theres also a theory that rue and jules is a nickname for romeo and juliet)
